Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. New to the forum. I did have a MK6 Fiesta before this which was lightly modified with smoothed rear wipers, debadged, wrapped grill, halo lights, bonnet strip, aftermarket radio, vibe speakers upgrade. Lets see what happens with this one...!
  2. Hello everyone, since buying a Ford in January and posting in the new members topic(Also January) i have not done a single thing on the forum since then, however i'm here today to show you what I've done with my car and what i hope to achieve next. Quick Side note: 1) I'm young and insurance skyrockets with modifications of the performance type, so yes i will be doing exhausts/remaps/air filters etc etc, but not until next year on my second NCB. :) 2)All of this was done by myself, everything. I'm fairly proud however constructive criticism is advised! 3)Any future modifications you want to suggest i'm absolutely all ears on it. Ok, so firstly my engine bay, now as said in the quick side notes unfortunately i can't go around buying cold air intakes and primary and secondary induction hoses which sucks, however i have made the most of it buy doing a little bit of personal styling. Primary induction hose and Air box have all been sprayed Red, and then once it was dry it was coated with lacquer for a bit of extra protection. I wanted to take out the Secondary hose and paint that but i couldnt seem to be able to take off the breather pipe? i tried looking online and on here and for the life of me i just couldn't find it, so i left it how it was.(Besides those two circular clips that attach it to the "Engine" sorry my car savvy is about 2/10, were awfully hard to put back on when they went off. Right, so Secondly i decided to give my interior a new breath of life aswell, The side trim where the door handle is, the main center console, and the plastic bit that covers your ford sync screen thing were all taken off and recoloured. I did this by using a lacquer remover type solution (Not used on the ford sync casing) to, well remover the lacquer and then i re-colored and re-lacquered for a protective finish. The i guess "Upper" center console(Radio controls volume control etc etc) was going to be taken out and re-coloured but i didnt realise the trim and the actual hardware were all as one bit? i'm sure there is a way to separate them but looking back on it i like how it is. Next i did the gear knob, it wasn't necessary but the plastic bit on top of the Ford gear knob came loose and was only being held on my one little plastic clip, so i decided to change that because why not? Well, Finally exterior mods, and i don't have much to say about this but all i've really done is install wind deflectors. I am planning on replacing the OEM aerial because it's just so unnecessarily big and looks out of place, i am also looking to have new badges to match the red, and i want to install a different rear bumper ( Will be done when i can modify the car to replace the exhaust system and maybe a triple-r composite splitter for the front. I will also be looking at re-colouring my brake pads or just waiting and buying some Red Brembo ones but i don't know yet, the one thing that is stumping me, is if i do decide to just re-colour the pads, do i also do the rear drumbrakes? or just get diskbrakes for the rear and have them red, don't really know. Anyway that's everything, some of the things i'm planning to do at the moment wont be done for some time but i'll get around to them and anything else i do ill be updating the post when i can as well. :) Thanks for taking the time to read it. Also please excuse the mess of photos i typed all of this and then decided to do the photos afterwards, its all in chronological order so its pretty easy to see what i've done. Also Alsom these bottom pictures are just a few "During process" ones, and finished product pictures (No chronological order).
  3. New car slight problem!

I've just realised I've been posting everything in the wrong section, apologies to anyone and everyone🙄 ANYWAY.. Ive very recently bought a 65 Plate Fiesta Black Edition (140ps) the car is unbelievable compared to my last Fiesta Edge (60ps) - I know. But there's a slightly annoying problem with the seatbelt, I've managed to make it work (sometimes) but I'd like to get it solved. This the post:
  4. New car! Slight problem

I've done it! Bought a 65 Fiesta Black Edition! But there's only one problem, been back to the garage but they want it back in on Monday to see if they can resolve it, but i think it's easy enough to fix myself. The passenger side seat belt won't come out, it's jamming as if it's been pulled hard, even when it's being pulled gently, it comes if you wiggle it and push and pull back, but it's obviously not as it should be.. any ideas? PLEASE😏
  5. Upgrading from a 2007 1.2 zetec to a red edition this friday. Not a bad price as well I think, 2015, 5k, privacy tints, heated seats, 11700 from a TrustFord dealer. Just wondering if there are any common faults/annoyances with this specific car?
  6. I was wondering about making my Ford Fiesta Black Edition have a louder blow off valve noise but... I am worried that my engine warning light will come up and my car may go into "LIMP MODE". Also what blow off valves fit the fiesta black edition??? Ben_140
  7. Accidental New Owner

Hi All, I wanted to test drive a new red or black edition... just to see how it compared to my 150bhp diesel astra, as i wanted a new car in a few months time I was in luck... I managed to find the only dealer within about 20 miles that had one available for a drive. It had just come off the lorry, with 13 miles on the clock Long story short, i'll be picking it up in a couple of weeks and i cant wait! Sure it doesn't have the torque to pull like the astra, but it really didn't feel slow in comparison at all. It's a lot perkier though... just begging to be thrown into corners. Here's a few pics...
  8. Relatively New to this kind of thing but I was wondering if anyone has had an aftermarket exhaust fitted to there fiesta Black or Red editions? If so is it worth doing and do they sound half decent :) Cheers
  9. Red And Black Badges For My Ford!

Have a 15 plate red edition Zetec S, and would love to know where I can get some gel badges for it in the red and black or visa versa. I heard a certain company has been stopped making them but surely somebody else does? Cheers all!
  10. Hey! A couple days ago I got a Fiesta Zetec '08 Special Blue Edition, and I can honestly say I love it, absolutely fantastic car! So many nice little features that you wouldn't even think about when purchasing it but genuinely do make the car that much more enjoyable to be in. Small side note, am I right in saying this is a mk6.5 Fiesta? (58 plate but not new style) So, onto the topic in question; the headunit. About a month ago I bought an Alpine CDE-123R headunit which I plan on fitting into the car. The car currently has the stock Sony headunit fitted and I want to know what kind of cables/adapters/fascia I need to acquire to fit my Alpine headunit. The current headunit in the car... Note; not my picture. I want to be able to connect my iPhone 5 via USB and use it to play music, not interested in the whole bluetooth/handsfree in car calls. I already know, or believe I need to get a set of removal key tools. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-Focus-C-Max-Mondeo-Fiesta-CD-Radio-Stereo-Removal-Keys-Pins-6000-6006-CDC-/250904481702?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3a6b128fa6 However after this stage I'm kind of stuck, well I reckon I could work it out as I go along but I have no clue what other parts I will need. I think I'm going to need some form of adapter as the Alpine headunit has a different shaped cable block at the back. Also will I be able to use volume changer on the steering wheel? Any help would be very much appreciated, and I once I have it all figured out I do plan on making a guide for this model Fiesta as there doesn't seem to be any out there (well none that I could find).
