  1. Hello all. First of all, my apologies if this is in the wrong section. I am pretty concerned about this. We have a ticking noise and I am afraid it might be related to the big end or surroundings. It begun a week ago more or less, and it has only got louder by now. I´ve seen many posts around but mostly 10 years old. Here is a video where I recorded the noise, but first, some technical info on it: The ticking happens from around 1500/1800 rpm. Mostly above 40km/h (25 miles) Faster tempo as you accelerate, slower tempo as you decelerate, it is mostly muted if you apply the brakes. It does not happen from cold start, but after a little bit of driving, maybe after 10 minutes of above 1500rpm driving. After a few minutes of higher speeds and coming back to 1500 rpm the tick is louder, can hear it from outside as an oily kind of ticking, from inside as a dry tick, mostly coming from the right side of the car (as you drive forward). Oil level is correct, the car is 8 years old, second hand but never did too many miles, the expected amount for a 1.25l small car really. Will take it to be checked and report back, but it can take a couple of days for that and I would like to hear some inputs from those who might have some experience. The noise is louder but the phone mics record a lot of noise with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qno2HqB7CI

    Head unit problems

Hi, I’m having problems with my head unit I believe. I always connect my phone to the aux lead and my music plays through the speakers but nothing shows up on the head unit so no song titles or information and the skip buttons on the wheel and the console don’t do anything when they’ve been pressed. In my previous fiesta the music was also able to be played through the Bluetooth and I have Bluetooth on my current fiesta but the aux won’t switch to the Bluetooth like it did in my old one. Any suggestions on what to do as I don’t want to have to buy another head unit. Many thanks!
  3. Hi guys, New around here, but I'm looking to pickup my Fiesta MK7 at the end of the month - so I'm currently shopping around for insurance quotes. I've been quoted £1.4k a year fully comp with a black box and 10k miles p/year - which doesn't seem that expensive? I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on where to look and how to get the quote down cheaper? I've read that dashcams make it cheaper - so looking to put one of these in (does anyone have any good ones they can recommend?) Thanks in advance! Ben
  4. My 2012 Fiesta was a Cat D repaired car, I got it very, very cheaply, soon after purchase I noticed that the steering wheel would not lock in a very high position and also there was movement in the wheel upwards when I lift. I started to research it and thought it may have been damaged in the accident, so kept it to local roads in the meantime. Last week, the steering wheel dropped down and no matter what I tried the tilt lever would not lock it into place. A new steering column from ford is £670 and is a non serviceable item, labor charges would also be in the range of £300+ to swap out, so I bought a used item from a breaker for £49 and this helped me to understand how the system works. Back to my car, I rotated the steering wheel to reveal the two screws that hold the trim around the column, there is a third one on the bottom. When I exposed the column I noticed that the hanger that holds the column had fallen away from the top mounting plate, it is held in position by one small screw!!! So I undid the front two plate bolts - you need a deep socket set to do this and then pulled down the front of the assembly, I was then able to refit the missing screw. There are also two springs either side of the unit, both of which had fallen off as well, once reinstalled my steering is now 100%, it locks in any position and the upwards looseness has gone. I have attached a photo to help clarify. hope this helps someone else with the same problem.
  5. Hi there, I am soon to attempt to replace the upper steering column on my Mk7 as it no longer locks and holds the wheel in place, it simply hangs low :0( My question is how do you remove the Key Cylinder/Barrel please? I have the key for the car and need to swap it into the new column. Really appreciate any advice on how to take it out and reinstall it, thank you.
  6. Wondering if anyone could help me out? As by the title that is the car I have it is basic nothing done to it as of yet but looking to get an exhaust system on it for it to actually sound good and half decent, anyone show me the best place to look and what price I'd be looking at? Thanks in advance
  7. Hi Ive already done one post on this but I still can't change the bulb. I have a Fiesta MK7 and need to change what dipped beam bulb. When I remove he rubber cap I'll add the photos below, I don't know what to do. Sorry if I'm being stupid... all other guides look very different to mine... :(
  8. So, after buying Adaptor USB adaptor, I've realised the whole socket is not working. I realise this could be the fuse ( anyone know a replacement?). Also, is it liking their is physical damage to the socket itself, its barely been used, so don't see how that's possible, and of so, how easy is it to replace?
  9. Hi all, I am new here and I have recently bought a second hand 2011 Fiesta. I would like to know if the 2011 fiesta have radio code? I asked from the dealer I bought with and he said the new fiesta does not have radio code. Can someone confirm it? Thanks.
  10. can you guys please tell me what this is called THANKS
  11. You can find below the steps needed to replace the mirror indicator bulbs/ remove the housing on a mk7 Fiesta. The process is pretty simple, takes about 10 mins and only needs one person and a screwdriver. I was removing the cover to replace the bulbs with chrome ones but the same process applies for pretty much any work you want to do on the mirrors. The reason I have written this guide is that whilst the process is simple it does require you to apply a fair bit of pressure to plastic parts which is always a worry if you don't know exactly what you're doing. From my experience the job doesn't endanger your mirror glass as you pretty much leave that alone and you're most at risk of snapping one of the plastic clips on the housing. On the up side though they all seem surprisingly sturdy so as long as you're careful you will be fine. Step 1 Step 2 Step 3
  12. I've had my Mk7 Fiesta for a little bit under 6 months now and I've finally have decided to make a build thread from the day that I picked it up the 16/05/2014 to now and for what ever modifications come after! I went and inspected the car on the 12/05/2014 at used car dealer in Melbourne (Capital City in Victoria Australia) and I was immediately hooked! I had the choice from either a Black WT Zetec which I had inspected earlier in the day or the Phantom Blue WT Zetec, (both Asian versions) and the rarity of the Phantom Blue immediately caught my attention. I had only seen about 3 on Victorian Roads since they were released so my choice was clear! The day I inspected and purchased the car. After cutting a few deals with the salesman I managed to knock the price down and get four brand new tyres put on with a replacement tow cover as the original was missing before i picked it up 4 days later. I went home that night and immediately ordered some new bulbs for it. Some super bright reversing lights and everything else needed for the front but in white. This is the new Fiesta the day that I picked her up. As soon as the new lights arrived I put them in so I didn't have to deal with the horrible yellowish stock lights! Unfortunately I don't have any photos documenting this but if requested I am able to show a comparison. Next thing on my to do list was pick a name for the little beast and the get some protection for her! So I fitted some weather shields and a bonnet protector about a week after I got her! And I decided on a name something close to her heritage. Phantom. Off to work now but I post some more later! - Tom

    Help! Broken Spring.

So I think my mk7 09 fiesta front spring is broken (sounds like there's metal hitting off metal when I'm going over bumps) and I need some advice. I've had to find a new mechanic because my last one was a friend of my ex and I'm concerned that I'm going to end up being ripped off because I don't have a clue what he's talking about. Roughly how much should it cost? And I've heard that your better getting them both done at the same time because once one goes, they both will? This is when being a man less, clueless girl isn't handy lol

    Mk7 Fiesta Inner Door Card.

Hi I am in dyer need of some help. I am trying to access the lock barrel from the inside of the car. I have removed the outter door card which contains the handle etc. I am then faced with an inner black plastic door card which contains 10-12 size 10 screw bolts. After removing these I presumed the plastic card would come away from the door quite easily, but this has not been the case. Can anyone give me some direction on what I'm doing wrong please?

    Lowering Kits.

Hi All, I have a Mk7 Fiesta Titanium and am looking into lowering it. I have heard that all Titanium models stand around 10mm higher than the others but i'm not 100% sure on this? I'm not sure what lowing kit brand to go for or how much to lower it by. I'd like to notice that its lower but not loose the ride's smoothness completely? Any advice would be great!! Thanks :D

    What Is The Official Name?

Hello everyone! I was travelling down the A1 yesterday when I came across (and ran over! - not my fault) a ratchet and strap that some tool had left/dropped. To go along with the flat tyre which was expected, I also found when I stopped that the wee panel on the back of the side skirt had come off! I think it's the removable bit to get the jack under the car. Just wondered if anyone knows the official name for the wee panel and also where is the best place to get a replacement? Cheers

    Anyone With The Know How?!?

Hey, I have a 2009 fiesta mk7 and am wanting to put redex into it, but can't because of the stopper for the petrol pump. I've tried to pour some into the tiny gap in it but it runs out the tire well. Is there a way to get redex into the system. I don't think a jerry can would do but haven't tried as of yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    Wilko's Frozen White S1600

Hey, Thought as I'm doing a few bits to my car I would start a progress thread. Bought my white S1600 end of Feb this year and I think its pretty awesome. Mods so far include: Front windows lightly tinted Read windows tinted dark Team Heko wind deflectors DMB badges Vinyl wrapped wing mirrors LED side lights Osram Nightbreaker+ dipped beams Silverteck indicators K&N Panel filter Flyeyed headlights and fogs Mods for the future: Lowered on coilovers spray plastics gloss black vinyl lower grill bumper cat-back Black vinyl roof Possibly change wheels but not 100% on this. Splitter Mountune spoiler Extensions Possibly white eyebrows So here it is as it came from the garage... So my first mod were the Hekos... Then the DMBs. I did buy white with black writing but i didnt think it looked very good so changed them for back with white writing. Then the window tints, mirrors and sunstrip Silverteck bulbs. Think these make the lights look so much better than the nasty orange bulbs Thought I'd try a bit of flyeye on the front headlights and fogs Then the most recent thing i have done is change the bulbs from standard to SMD LED side lights and Osram Nightbreaker+ dipped beams.. Here is how they are as standard: (i dont know why but this picture reminds me of a cats face with its ears back.... maybe its just me) New sidelights: Sidelights and dipped: Cant decide on the next thing i want to do. Either... Roof vinyled, splitter or just save the money and save up for coilovers.... what you recon?
