    Ford Fiesta Ghia Tdci 2006

    Hi looking for some technical advice here. My Ford Fiesta Ghia wont start, I’m a learner driver so this car isn’t in frequent use. The battery started to go flat and after jump starting it everything appeared to be fine. After starting it everyday for a week to check that the battery wasn’t going flat, one day the car wouldn’t start at all. Initially, we believed the cause to be the battery. After buying a brand new one and installing, the car still won’t Crank and start. The radio lights etc come on and work, but when turning the key there is nothing there at all. can anyone offer some guidance? This is my first car and am stressed about having a huge garage bill. It would be useful if anyone could suggest some things to try to at least rule out some possible faults. Thanks in advance

Hello, I'm not much of a car expert but a friend of mine has noticed that a part holding a hose from my turbo is missing, They've said that it was keeping the heat of the turbo away from the hose and that it's crucial to have, I've visited Ford parts to which the employee has said to get the part that I want I'd need to buy a new turbo, I'm looking for a simple clip that is attached to the turbo and holding the hose, is it true that it's a crucial part and where can I find one? picture below. (Sorry for the bad quality in advance!)

Due to lackadaisical typing I noticed several typos I couldn't go back and edit and before the post gained any more views I figured it would be best to re-post and move category. Instagram: @drive_further Facebook page: drive_further My story so far: I write this in part as you guys may be interested in my achievements which I haven't really publicised - for no other reason than the fact I'm travelling for my own personal experience. In 2016 I left England on what so far has been a 2 year road trip across the northern hemisphere (with a brief visit to west-coast America whilst I applied for Central Asian visas) in my 2002 Ford Fiesta. I've driven to date over 25,000 miles and explored countries such as Kosovo, Bosnia, Albania, Russia, Georgia ... In late 2016 I visited the northern Russian city of Murmansk experiencing temperatures as low as -22 and my car was fine! In the coming days I will cross the Ural river, the geographical feature separating Asia and Europe; and and arrive for the first time in the continent of Asia. I've severely neglected social media ad wasn't sure how best to 'advertise' my travels, I simply thought someone may be interested. I'm not looking for fame, simply, I have accumulated so many interesting stories, both car and non car related, along with tens of thousands of DSLR photos and 'car selfies.' I just thought as my story is perhaps unusual and in a Ford Fiesta someone/you all may be interested.

    Driving the road to nowhere

    Rising to over 1,800 metres above sea level, the road from the town of Guarcino to the ski resort at Campocatino bustles with snow-lovers during winter months. However, for the rest of the year Via Campocatino is a barely used mountain road just 80 kilometres east of Rome that’s made for driving. “Stock up with Amaretti biscuits in Guarcino – one of Italy’s oldest towns – and prepare for a very twisty, very challenging drive to the top” said journalist Steve Sutcliffe, who ventured there in our new Ford Fiesta ST for the latest film in Ford’s ‘Europe’s Greatest Driving Roads’ series. Reach the top and views of the Monti Velino nature reserves in the north, and the mountain ranges of Lazio to the south-east can be found. Rome itself can be seen to the north-west. “If you’re there on a cloudless evening the sky will be awash with stars; you even pass an astrological observatory on the way to the top that collaborates with observatories from around the world tracking asteroids, that’s how little light pollution there is here” added Sutcliffe. This is the eighth film in the series which has seen Sutcliffe drive everything in the Ford Performance catalogue, from Ford GT supercar across the stunning Atlantic Ocean Road in Norway to a Focus RS across Blakey Ridge in North Yorkshire, UK. As the first Italian road to be featured, the stunning Via Campocatino scored a maximum ten out of ten for scenery and thrill factor, with an overall score of 53 out of 60, the joint fourth highest of the series.   5. Morning all I am the current, and proud owner of a 2007 Ford Focus Zetec Climate 3-door hatchback 1.6 petrol. It has 93 on the clock and I've wanted a Zetec S for a long time. After reading that the Zetec S models are only cosmetic upgrades and without performance upgrades, I looked into an ST instead. First, a 2007 to basically upgrade the car I have now to it's top end sport variant (07 or 57 plate, would have preferred 57 but wouldn't have been a major - but did read that these models that were registered a bit later had a few less issues). I scrapped the idea and thought I'd go for something newer. I like the newer shape Zetec S also - 2012 to 2015. The 2014 is stunning and looks amazing in that, is it Midnight Blue paint job. I have come across a 2012 Zetec S 1.0. 85 on the clock but been assured of the full Ford Service History that comes with it. I always research a car's MOT History if I am interested in it and this hasn't failed any. I have done extensive searches on Ford's 1.0 Ecoboost Engine to check reviews and reliability. I don't tend to drive like an idiot and really look after my cars. But, as a realist, I also know that can't always prevent problems. I am wondering if anybody has any horror stories - or - glory, feel good stories about this particular car. Any reasons I should steer clear or follow my stupid, car enthusiast (Focuses really 😉), stubborn heart and go for it. Thank you. Focused87
  6. Hello everyone! Really hope this is the place to ask this question! I’m a first time driver and I recently bought a Ford Fiesta Zetec climate 2008 I was driving home late at night and I was about to stall as I was in third gear and slow down dramatically when the car just went to bit mad! I managed to get it on video but unfortunately it’s dark but hopefully someone might be able to tell me what’s going on! Recently just had a full-service and the map sensor has just been replaced! any help is really appreciated thank you Kieran p.s File is too big so I Put it on YouTube.

  8. Just a quick question… does anyone have a Ford Mondeo 2015 or newer (new shape)?? My car listed above has a tyre pressure monitor on it, I have inflated it a few times but every week now it goes off saying the pressure is low (but not flat). I have topped it up according to the manual for the bar/PSI and reset the monitor, give it a week, same thing. Not sure if I have a slow puncture and the tyre monitor doesn’t give individual tyre pressure readings (it’s all or nothing), just wondering if anyone else had the same issue? Don’t really want to go to Kwik Fit for them to tell me there is nothing wrong….
  9. Hi guys :) I've got problem with my Fiesta MK6 2002 1.4 16V. I bought the car in Sep 2017. In December I was on full service with it and everything was fine. Yesterday I've checked oil and it was below minimum I did about 5000 miles only since December and all oil burned it that time. I know it shouldn't be like that so I read some articles in the internet and many of them says that it can be PCV, crankcase etc. So I checked today the small pipe which is coming form air filter box straight to the engine but it looks clear, one thing which was really dirty was small sponge (filter)(see pictures) in air filter box in this place where the small pipe going from to the engine. Also oil is very dark, yesterday I topped up oil and did about 15 miles since that time and today oil was almost black (see pictures). Do you know guys what can be wrong? And where are PCV and crankcase breather in my car and how to check it?
  10. hello, i currently have a 1.6 tdci, its remapped and has a k&n airfilter on and a straight pipe exhaust (still has decat) i believe its on the round about 136+ mark but dont have a solid number as never dyno'ed it, i want to upgrade my turbo to a hybrid turbo but i want to know if anyone else has advice etc on it and can point me to right parts to upgrade and prices etc please ?

  12. Hi guys I've got a 2015 Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.25 ltr and for the past month or so I've noticed the steering doesn't feel as light as it used to when I got it in June last year. There was one day a few weeks ago where it felt as light as it used to and it was great. I've put over 12000 miles on this car but not really sure what I can do? Any help?

    Hello!

    Hello all, I'm picking up a 2013 Zetec S next Thursday. It's got just over 12,000 miles on the clock! I currently own a Honda Civic Type R & i've never owned a Ford before. I've bought the 115bhp 1.6 Diesel because I do over 300 miles a week and believe me, in a Type R that is completely unbearable and extremely expensive. I also like the look of the Mk3's with the Zetec S body kit, my cup of tea. Plus I've heard the modern Focus's are very much at home on dual carriageways & motorways. I've already found the forum very useful and I'm grateful for those who have helped with the few queries I have had. Any further advice/tips is genuinely greatly appreciated. Sam :-)

    Speed limiter opinions

    Hi, all I recently picked up my new Fiesta Mk8 st line 140ps. I have been playing with the speed limiter on it as I've never used one before or a cruise control. I just wondered what anyone else thought about it? I am finding is strange when you are going down hill or up hill. Seems like such hard work for it and could be causing more bad than good. On a straight road with it set at 40, 50 or 60mph it seems brilliant. Eith great fuel economy around 60mpg showing on the computer Does anyone else use it regularly or have any tips on how to get the best out of it?

    All New 2018 Ford Focus revealed

    The new Ford Focus aims to build upon two decades of driver-pleasing appeal with more space, technology, luxury and comfort than ever before. Rather than rolling out a heavily-overhauled version of its predecessor, Ford’s invested in an all-new platform for the new Focus – and because the chance to design an all-new car from a clean sheet of paper doesn’t come around very often, Ford product development vice president Joe Bakaj says “we grabbed it with both hands”. The original 1998 Focus changed the game by being brilliant to drive, in a sector full of dullards. The reason why so many high-volume hatchbacks today feel like premium cars behind the wheel is because of the Focus. These days, rivals such as the Volkswagen Golf have overtaken the Focus. With this new one, Ford’s looking to reassert its authority. Ford is clear. The new Focus will be the most rewarding family hatchback on the market, both for drivers and passengers. It will also be the most confidence-inspiring and intuitive, the latter presumably in reference to the current car’s somewhat overburdened infotainment system and steering wheel controls. Ford says it’s never worked with customers more closely in developing this car: the new Focus is its most human-centric car ever. The new Ford Focus will go on sale from August 2018, for deliveries in time for the September registration plate change. Prices will start from £17,930, which Ford says is £2,300 cheaper than the current Focus Style entry-level car. Zetec and ST-Line variants are, respectively, £850 and £250 cheaper. Other variants include ST-Line X, Titanium, Titanium X and the first ultra-posh Ford Focus Vignale: it costs from £25,450. There’s also a crossover-style Focus Active, another Focus first, whose prices are still to be confirmed. ‘Fall in love with a Focus’ Ford’s European designers say they want customers to “fall in love with, and stay in love with,” the new Focus. Apparently, it’s all about “creating memorable moments of interaction”, which Ford’s done on the outside by lengthening the wheelbase and bonnet, shortening the overhangs and smoothing the wedge shape on the sides – making it look sportier and posher. Bigger wheels that fill the wheelarches more fully give it a better stance, the body panels are sculptural and appear more tensioned than before, while longer wings and squat rear haunches give it an athletic appearance. Ford’s also made the grille even larger and fitted both front and rear lights as outboard as possible, to emphasise the car’s width. Details you may spot at the rear: tail lamps are now two-piece, so the boot opening can be bigger, and there are distinctive LED lighting patters both day and night (same goes for the headlights). Also at the rear is a new individually-lettered ‘Focus’ script in the centre of the bootlid, whose satin-finished script further shouts ‘premium’. Four Focus finishes There are four different types of Ford Focus at launch – regular series models (including Style, Zetec and Titanium), the ST-Line, plus new Vignale and Focus Active variants. What marks out the latter three from regular models? The following features: • Focus Vignale – chrome-laden ‘coast-to-coast’ front bumper, Vignale grille mesh, satin aluminium roof rails and lower body trim, bespoke four-coat Dark Mulberry paint option • Focus ST-Line – 10mm lower ride height, rear diffuser and roof spoiler, sportier front bumper, ST-Line lower wing air curtains • Focus Active – 30mm taller ride height, black wheelarch mouldings, front and rear skid plates in contrast silver, crossover-style front end design Simpler interior To measure up to cars such as the Volkswagen Golf, Ford has upped interior quality, and greatly simplified the layout. There’s a Fiesta-style floating central touchscreen, and optional new materials such as polished glass and brushed metal finishes. High-end and automatic models get an electronic parking brake to complete the clutter-free look. Vignale models feature fine-grain wood and leather, ST-Line gets carbon fibre-effect and red stitching, while Active have rugged, textured surface and finishes. Sync 3 infotainment offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility via the 8-inch touchscreen: it’s standard on all but base Style models. For those who want to exploit its Spotify functionality, a new 675-watt B&O Play premium sound system plays through 10 speakers, including central mid-range speaker and a subwoofer in the boot. The new Ford Focus is bigger inside. Knee room is up 50mm, there’s 60mm more shoulder room and details such as a flat floor and rear windows that stretch into the rear pillar enhance the spacious feel. An optional, openable, panoramic glass roof is available. Focus on engines Engine choice in the 2018 Focus is either Ecoboost petrol (1.0 or 1.5) or Ecoblue diesel (1.5 or 2.0). Both petrol engines are three-cylinder units, and you can get both with cylinder deactivation that cuts a cylinder when demand is light. Ford says the cylinder cuts and reengages in 14 milliseconds, and there’s “no compromise in performance or refinement”. The 1.0-litre comes in 85hp, 100hp or 125hp guise; the 1.5-litre comes in 150hp or 182hp form. Ecoblue diesels deliver CO2 from 91g/km for the 95hp 1.5-litre engine; it’s also offered in 120hp form. The 2.0-litre produces 150hp, and is expected to boast CO2 emissions from 110g/km. A six-speed manual is standard on all Focus; an eight-speed automatic is offered for the first time, complete with Jaguar Land Rover-style rotary gearshifter. Focus on chassis The big deal with the Ford Focus ever since it was launched back in 1998 is how it drives. This one is no exception. But there is a cutback for lower-power variants: for the first time since the Escort, a Ford Focus comes with ‘lightweight’ (read: cheaper) twist-beam rear suspension, instead of the better, pricier independent short long arm (SLA) system on other models. It’s a system derived from the setup in the Fiesta, so it should be one of the better torsion beam setups (and its more compact design yields a bigger, wider boot), but those seeking the best new Focus experience may prefer to avoid the 1.0-litre Ecoboost and 1.5-litre Ecoblue engines it’s paired with. Because the independent SLA setup is more sophisticate than ever. Ford’s fitted variable bushes, which have different stiffnesses in different directions – so they can be firm where they need to be and soft where they don’t. They separate the subframe from the body, for a smoother ride and less noise, vibration and harshness; Ford also fits clever springs that pre-load the rear suspension with vectoring forces – making the rear suspension crisper and more responsive. For the first time, adaptive dampers are offered on a Focus. Continuously Controlled Damping, or CCD, can adjust every 2 milliseconds. It adds intelligence to the Focus’ well-developed core chassis: for example, it can detect the very edge of a pothole and firm up the damper, so the wheel doesn’t fall as far down into it, for less of a crash-bang. While simultaneously sending a signal to the rear wheel, so it can be primed for the pothole too. Ingenious. Different driving models are offered on a Focus for the first time – Normal, Sport or Eco; CCD adds two more modes, Comfort and Eco-Comfort, which softens the suspension accordingly. Other details Ford’s proud of include a bodyshell that’s 20 percent stiffer, and individual suspension mounting points that are 50 percent stiffer. Focus on the future Finally, with one eye on the future, Ford’s prepared the new Focus with a wealth of advanced driver assist tech. available tech includes Adaptive Cruise Control that includes stop and go, lane centreing and speed limit sign recognition. Evasive Steering Assist helps drivers steer around obstructions, and the Adaptive Front Lighting System has a camera-based predictive curve light and industry-first road sign detection. The new Focus brings head-up displays to the Ford range in Europe for the first time, while the latest generation of Active Park Assist 2 will now park it at the push of a button – handling all accelerator, brake and gear selection. Ford says the combination of autonomous technologies, under the banner Ford Co-Pilot360, “brings technologies synonymous with Level 2 automation to a family car”. Presumably the official Level 2 Focus will arrive later, to take on Nissan’s Level 2-compliant ProPilot system now offered in the Qashqai and Leaf. Ford has sold 16 million Focus since the model was launched in 1998, including 7 million in Europe. Almost 2 million have been sold in the UK, showing what a key market Britain is for the new family hatch. Perhaps this is why Ford chose to launch the fourth-generation car here, in London.   18. Hi all, forst post so be gentle ive got a 2009 Ford galaxy auto 2.0 tdci 140 every 2,000 miles or so it’s goes into limp home mode, and says engine malfunction, transmission service required. Turn it off for 10 mins and pull over - back on and it’s fine. Had a garge do a fault read on it, nothing shows up. Any idea what it could be? Don’t mind travelling to a garage / ford specialist that’s fixed this issue. Don’t have a ford specialist by me 😔 any help greatly appreciated thanks im advance

It has recently gone through a tune up so It is currently running more effienctly and faster than the standard st. * Engine block mod (new seals/sealants/pipes + more). * Full stainless steel cobra exhaust system (inc sports cat) * Rs clutch kit and sparks *Upgraded brake discs and pads (front and back) Next MOT due 01/06/2018. All works been done at Dreamscience and kept all receipts. New full set of F1 Goodyear tyres. Has done 74,000 miles and has had 2 previous owners. Also comes with private reg.   22. Hi There Just bought a Ford Focus second hand the other day and no warranty was available due to age (Surprise, Surprise). This car is a 1.8 TDCI with 115k, It has been throwing up the lights for PowerTrain and Engine Management from I got it and now they are stuck on completely, Was messing about with the engine last night and managed to get all the lights off after poking around with the sensors and glow plugs! It is very hard to start, sounds like a tractor in the mornings and won't rev past 3000 revs (It's actually a bit lower than that), I also realized that a pipe for the sender for the turbo pressure had snapped aswell I managed to fix that all together but it's went back to the way it was! It's a very clean car and I have always liked the focus brand so any help would be greatful and I am on a tight budget so if you have any advice try and keep it in simple terms as I will be attempting most of the repairs on my own! Hi everyone This is my little Courier van, I chose this as it is the perfect size for my business requirements, originally looking at Caddy vans, all the ones I looked at were damaged and just not in a clean condition. I saw this advertised at my local Evans Halshaw (Hull) and went for a viewing and test drive, it's the 'Trend' model with the 1.6L engine which I hear is rarer than the 1.5, no idea if that's true. Absolutely delighted with the van, drives just like a car 👍👍 Modifications so far: • 18" Team Dynamics 'Imola' alloys • lowered 45mm • Tinted windows (Light) • Tinted side and rear indicators • 'Team Heko' wind reflectors • Upgraded LED daytime running lights • Fiesta ST interior foot pedals • Black gel overlays on Ford badges • Chrome door latch covers =============== Tons of things yet to be done, including full colour coding which is up next, along with fitting a front lower spoiler from an ST once the bumper has been painted. Here is the van at the dealers: Once home the first thing I did was tint the side and rear clear lenses along with upper brake light: I then fitted chrome door latch covers which I think is a nice touch: The windows were tinted, wind deflectors etc were fitted then I recently added the alloys and a good friend dropped the suspension for me. I spent hours and hours researching what suspension would fit perfect, there really isn't a lot on the net about these vans so I've had to put some hours in to find out the info. Here is the van as it currently stands today, I've blanked out the rear sign writing as I'm sure this would be in the rules of the forum? Hope you all like the progress so far, colour coding up next.
  24. Hi, I was wondering if someone would be able to help me. I’ve got a 2014 Ford Fiesta 1.25 and it has a bit of a revving issue. It starts revving up and down by itself and also goes so low that it stalls by itself. It also sometimes doesn’t pick up speed properly. The car also produces a lot of white smokes, so much that I can’t see in my rear view mirror. Someone please help.
  25. I have for sale a 2 door cortina GT. During my last road trip to Greece , I came across this fantastic 2 door ford Cortina GT mark 2. The owner told me the car has been off the road since 2007.He imported the car to Greece in 1977 and he was driving the car daily for 30 years. I've been told that when he left the car in 2007, it was running. He said the engine should be ok , but this hasn't been tested by me. In addition he explained there is a leak in the fuel tank so caution needed in this area. The original log book shows that the first registration is 1977 , so I dont know what the exact year of manufacture is and also states that is a cortina lotus 175 GT. The car is in need of full restoration , interior is in good condition. I have attached pictures for you to look at.
