Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Focus 2015 st3 bulbs

Hi guys, Hope you can help, I am looking at buying new bulbs for the headlights as one of the, seems yellow and the other white. Anyways I have searched and come up with different bulbs and different headlight units but still not 100% which are suitable for my car. I have the headlights with the led strips also the extra light comes on when you drive around corners. Do I have the hid units or are they just normal units. And thus require std bulbs? Thanks craig.
  2. Hi guys need help with something, I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find a diagram to identify all the pins in a ford focus mk2 pre facelift headlight connector. I'm looking to identify the 8 pin connector and also the 10 pin connector. I have bought st225 bixenon projector headlights and they are 10 pin but my car is a zetec model and is only 8 pin I understand the pins are for self levelling sensors etc but for the time being I'm just trying to identify the harness so I can see what I need to re jig to get the bixenon projectors to work as hi/low. I have a picture below of what I have identified myself with just a meter and a power supply. It's only rough sketch, can't seem to identify the others
  3. Okay, so looking for your opinions on the pros and cons of each option, what's good, bad and ultimately...what's best. I've owned my mk7.5 fiesta 5 door Titanium since new...now three years old and I'm NOT about to spend another winter driving around with the crap bulbs that Ford seem to enjoy fitting as standard equipment! I'm looking to change all the bulbs out, front and rear, (and interior lights) in time for the winter months that will no doubt he here before we know it...so what should I go for? I'm really disappointed with the factory fitted bulbs on the headlights, but would quite like a more modern look so am considering HID's for main beam and Osram Nghtbreaker Laser or Unlimited for high beam. also thinking of using LED's for indicators, etc, but no idea how to tell a good LED from a lesser made product. only bulbs I'm thinking of leaving standard are front and rear fogs as I think I've used them probably twice since new and so really can't recall how effective they were, but given they're so rarely used I don't see the point in changing them out, unless they blow of course! Lastly I'm also trying to pluck the courage up to remove the headlamp units, bake them, open them up and go for the "black" look...any advice/suggestions on this would also be most welcome. 👍🏻 be interesting to read your thoughts...
  4. HIDs

Just thought I would start a topic to get a few folks opinions on HIDs. Basically, I'm looking to get a set of HID lights for my fiesta, but It seems there's s few negatives. From what I have read, they can damage the actually headlight itself due to the amount of light/heat it's giving off, and can damage the reflector that projects the light. I have a mate who fitted them amour a month ago now, bought his set for around £40. Last week both his HIDs blew up while driving leaving him with just his main beam and side lights to drive with. That kinda put me off abit. anyway would love to know people's opinions, those of who have them fitted, which ones did you go for, any problems etc. Cheers
  5. Hi Guys, So i daftly tried to install a HID kit in my fiesta the other day. Simple install, just plug and play. Later noticed that the set wasn't CANBUS compatible which may have been the cause of flickering bulbs and my H7 Right side Dipped bulb blowing its fuse Constantly. I changed my bulbs back to stock ones and all work apart from the blown H7 bulb. Replaced the fuse and blew again. Inspected the Headlight unit for damaged wires but nothing. New bulb, still blows. Its eating fuses and becoming an expensive job but i just need my dipped light to work again. Any ideas?

I Recently just swapped out my headlamps on my 2004 fiesta, they are projectors and have drls, There is a small wire that doesnt connect to anything and the guy said it was only needed for HID's, I was wondering would I need a conversion kit then if i was to install HID's?
  7. Hello chaps, There are two little mods I want to do to my car, the first is a HID conversion, and the second is to hardwire some ambient lighting into the map light for the front footwells and maybe the centre console. I was hoping some of you could give me some advice and/or links to a reliable HID conversion kit (H7 only) and to a good, red, ambient lighting products. Any forum guides that come to mind regarding these two mods would be great too! Thanks in advance!

  9. Fiesta St Hid Dark Line Issue

Hi Lads, I've recently installed HID into the projectors on my ST. I fitted them the correct way around and they have dark lines in the middle of the beams. I read on here that people have solved this issue by turning the bulb 180 degrees, I cut some notches in the bulbs base and fitted them upside down and the same dark line is still there. Anybody found a cause/solution for this? Cheers
  10. Ka Mk2 2010 Plate

  11. Hi everyone I'm new to the club as I've just bought myself a new ZS and thought I'd come to the experts on advice with how to improve it. I've already thought about Lockwood sill plates but can't decide whether or not to buy. The other major thing I'm looking to improve is the horrible yellow lights. I've been thinking about a 6000k HID kit for my dipped beams because I really like the white light, how has everyone else got on with them, have you failed your MOT? Please send pics so I can see how good they look. The kit I've found on eBay sounds pretty good and apparently they're e marked so they should be fine, could you check them out for me because I'm not really an expert aha. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=251439492401 If you wouldn't recommend HID's what would you recommend, I'm not sure what to get for all my other bulbs, I'd like to detango my front indicator lights but not sure what to replace the DRL, side lights and fogs with (LED's a good bet?) Final thing I've thought about is a K&N Panel Filter but is it really worth it, will it improve my mpg or performance in any way or is it just a waste of time and money. Please give me other ideas, links and pictures along with your own past experiences to help me improve my car,I'll leave some pics for you to see it

  16. UPDATE 19/01/2015 - I started this thread specifically for my sub enclosure. From there it grew into a general ICE thread. It's now turning into a general thread about mods/maintenance to/on my car. I also have topics on; Fiesta mk6 HID Retrofit - This topic shows how to fit Facelift head/tailights to a pre-facelift Fiesta mk6. It also explains how to install Bi-xenon projectors and HIDs without hurting the bank. I hope you enjoy reading, and subscribe to stay up to date! _______________________________________________________________________________ Few images of my custom sub box build... Just want to note now that I'm not building this box with competition specs in mind.. It's simply built to 1.) take up as little boot space as possible whilst 2.) providing more bass than the stock speakers. I'll be upgrading the rest of the audio in the car in due time! Just want to show off my amazing test of the box with a 6.5" "sub" although my box was designed for a 10" :) I'm using 12mm MDF and some strips of Ply to build my box. I'm also gluing all the joints with No Nails & Screws to make it as solid & airtight as possible. More pictures to follow once my sub, amp & carpet arrives! Fire away with any questions
  17. I would like to know if it is worth going the LED route rather than the HID lights for the fiesta projector lights? I see some of the LED's advertise you do not need ballasts for the lights, but has anyone tried them? and are they worth it, or should I just stick to the HID convertion? I use to have a Golf 5 with Xenons, and it was like driving during the day and would like to at least get close to that, I'm not interrested in the Blue effect lights, I know that as long as I stick to 6000k and below I should be fine with that. Would these work for what I have in mind? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Truck-H7-H8-H9-H11-9005-9006-CREE-LED-Conversion-KIT-HeadLight-6000K-4800LM-/251506864524?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a8efa318c&vxp=mtr
  18. Hid's Fitted :d

Hi guys, I received my HID's last Friday and fitted them same day! I was very interested to see how much of a difference it makes, and I can tell you now it's makes a massive difference! The lights is wider and longer now, I really wasn't happy with my previous bulbs I couldn't see anything and I hated going out at night, now I actually like to go out at night because I can see everything in front of me. They are 6000K 35w HID's, was going to buy the 8000K but I didn't want them to be too blue! I will attach a few images so you guys can decide:)

  22. Hid Advice

Hey ppl, im looking after some HID's for my mk1 facelift. There's two things holding me back though. 1. Someone told me HID's are illegal if you don't have auto adjust headlights and headlight washers 2. If the above isn't true then i need help choosing H7 HID's cos there's a shedload on ebay so i cant really choose and I dunno what brand is the best or most reputable. Soo help me plz???
  23. Hid Upgrade??

I've been doing a few different upgrades and modifications to the car and most recently have been looking at HID kits on the Internet. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of fitting/using a HID upgrade kit and how much I should be looking at paying for one? Oh and its an 08 plate focus Zetec mk2.5
  24. Hi, have been looking online at HID xenon conversion kits, but have hit a bit of a brick wall. I want them for my 2002 focus but am unsure how to go about it as the dipped and full beam lights are separate bulbs, so does this mean I would need two kits on each side? Also I have heard that the bulbs get very hot and wasn't sure if there was a risk of damaging the headlight body? Any information and advice on this would be great please! Thanks, Dan
  25. Hid's
