Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hey guys! just been driving back from work and halfway through, the service engine alert popped up and my car power dropped. The only change recently is an ITG induction kit. I’ve been running a Bluefin remap for about a month and had no issues with that, could it be related to the intake? The error has gone now I’ve turned the car off and back on again so I’m not sure using the bluefin handset to run a diagnostic will do anything? Any ideas on what I could/should check? cheers!
  2. Shopping from mountune

Hi all! Im very interested in the high flow primary induction hose from mountune, and the short-shifter arm for my Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost. But, i live in spain, and with shipping the cost of both items goes to about 240 pounds! is it worth? i feel is quite a bit of cash for two items. Anyone has some discount code or something? :P Do you recommend me these mods? even for that price? i need a little of advice and opinions as cash nowadays is limited Cheeers!!
  3. Hello, I've just had a new clutch and slave fitted and I fitted a pipercross induction kit (Panel filter enclosed in original airbox, see link below) https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/PK363-Pipercross-Induction-Kit-for-FORD-FIESTA-Mk7-1-25-1-4-1-6-16v-inc-ZETEC-S-/132384358099?_mwBanner=1 They were both done at the same time so I don't know which is causing the problem... When I'm in 1st gear, crawling through traffic, I'll get to the bite point and the car will shudder. Could it be that the cars not getting enough air? The cold air pipe supplied is really long, I have one side connected to the bottom of the new airbox and the other to the original cold air intake on the upper front of the engine bay (as directed). The pipe kind of sags down in the shape of an elongated "U", will this restrict the air intake? Something else that could help diagnose the problem is when I'm in 4th, doing 30mph then accelerate the car will for a moment drop power, sort of a stutter. I'm leaning towards the CAI but the juddering in 1st then makes me think clutch. Please help! Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 Petrol 2009
  4. Just spotted this used induction kit on eBay... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Fiesta-1-0-Ecoboost-Induction-Kit/253405183172?hash=item3b00203cc4:g:bhsAAOSw1GlabGmd so thinking about putting in a bid but not sure if this is a good idea or not without a remap, my car is pretty much standard under the bonnet? read a few other posts about the importance of getting cold air into the filter than warm air from around the engine bay and how this could affect the smooth running of the engine. would really appreciate any advice on this as the auction only has a day left to run! 😳 Many thanks
  5. So I've just recently picked up a 16 plate Zetec S 1.0 ecoboost and I have to say I'm hugely impressed! My dad has the st which I've driven but this in itself is a fantastic car, great smooth ride, quick, economical and an all round great car! My only qualm is how quiet the hiss from the turbo sounds! My question is what's the best modification to increase this sound? I'm not looking for something to necessarily make it louder when accelerating, just something to make that hiss from the turbo louder... My budget is £100-£200 and I'm just looking for some advice, much appreciated!
  6. Hi, This may seem like a silly question, but I was wondering whether it’s okay to use an induction kit designed for a 1.6 Ti-VCT Petrol Fiesta on my 1.6 TDCi Fiesta. The induction kit in question is a Pipercross Induction kit (http://www.pumaspeed.co.uk/product-Pipercross-Induction-Kit-Ford-Fiesta-Mk7-Ti-Vct_877.jsp). I have a basic mechanical knowledge, but would like the opinion of someone with a little more experience, as I’m a little paranoid about damaging the engine, and unless I know it’s safe to do, it won’t be getting fitted. Thanks in advance :)
  7. Going for an air intake!

Hi all! my next mod wants to be an air intake. The problem is i have been reading and reading since weeks and veeeryy confused. First, im not even sure if its good to change the OEM air filter, and if it really gives performance. Then, they are sooo many in market that i dont know which to go for. I have been looking at graham goode, j1, AS, ITG, etc... actually more then an agressive sound im kinda looking at one that gives me more blow off sound (as i got the turbosmart bov installed). And for last! It seems like the best one out its the r-sport stage 3? This one: http://www.pumaspeed.co.uk/product-Fiesta-10-Ecoboost-Stage-3-Full-Induction-Kit_16822.jsp cheers!!
  8. Air box Upgrade

Hello, I am looking for some information regarding upgrading the lower half of my air box to the ST250 or RS lower air box with the duel (Top & Bottom) air entrances (Picture 1) I have a 2014 Focus 1.0 Zetec S with the single (Top) air entrance (Picture 2) Is this a straight swap? Thanks
  9. Fiesta 1.0 build

Right I'm starting a build thread for my fiesta red edtion. All I've done so far is a cat back with resonator delete, ordered a intercooler and induction kit which should be coming in the next few days and will update on everything I do. Will get a picture of the exhaust later

  11. Ecoboost Induction Kit

Hi guys I have a 1.0 ecoboost zetec s fiesta and i'm looking at getting an induction kit for it. Can anyone recommend a good one? Any help would be appreciated!
  12. 1.0 ecoboost st-line

Hi guys. New to the forum, had fun wasting many hours browsing through the topics. I got my st-line(140) last week and am loving it. I've noticed that the engine has the promise a really good sound but doesn't quite deliver. Anyone put an induction kit in theirs, not worried about performance at the moment, and if so how does it sound? Thanks guys.
  13. Fiesta induction kit

Hey guys I've got a fiesta 140ps ecoboost and ive decided to upgrade and buy a ST!! I've recently bought a yellow primary and secondary induction hose from PumaSpeed, and have now no use for these parts due to the unexpected upgrade. The parts are unused and still in original packaging if anyone is interested? id have sent them back to PumaSpeed but they're custom parts and unfortunately are none returnable, so rather than letting them go to waste I thought I'd see if any fellow ford enthusiasts would like them? Thanks Jason

  16. Air Filter Fitting Guides

Hello all, This is my first post. I've spent a lot of time researching this forum site trying to decide wether or not I should buy a K&N Panel or cone filter or a complete induction kit. I still can't decide... I own a MK5 fiesta zetec(-s?), 1999. First car and i've owned it for a little over 4 months now. I'm wondering if anyone has a guide to fitting an air induction kit please? Should I choose to purchase one, I'd like to know how to fit it in. I think I'm asking because there was discussions about finding your own cold air feed with an induction? Or cone I'm not sure... I understand the air filters don't add much power and to be honest, I'm not after much. It's also for the experience of getting my hands dirty in the engine bay and knowing how things work! Thanks for your help guys. P.s. I know there are numerous posts and topics about air filters but none of them give me the answer I'm looking for!
  17. Hi all I am new to this Forum. My Ford Focus has been sick recently with the most recent issue being swooshing sound coming from engine when accelerating. Anyway I found a 2 inch split in the induction pipe between air box and engine. This must be the cause of the swoosh sound. However, there is some loss of power, probably by 20%. Would this split be the likely cause of the power loss too? I have put tape over the split which has helped the swooshing sound a bit but not completely. I am getting a new part on Saturday from Ford and will get it fitted next week. I have no engine light but: Should I check for error codes once new part fitted? I am not sure whether any sensors would have picked up the air leak and caused the car to go into some kind of safe mode? Or should the new induction pipe fix performance issue? How would I know if car has gone into limp home mode? How do I get it out of that mode if it has? Many thanks Colin
  18. Hi all! :D I've recently (yesterday) fitted an induction kit to my Fiesta and was questioning about the oil pipe coming from the engine into the factory air box. Now the induction kit I have doesn't feature any place to put said pipe so I'm a little confused in what my options are, I have been told the following: - Leave it hanging (as pictured below) - Get a small cone filter/breather for it. - Get a Oil Catch Tank. Now, I assume, the idea of this pipe is an 'output' of gas rather than an intake of air, which goes through your engine to get ride of any harmful fumes however, please correct me if this is not the case. I've tried searching but cannot find a decent answer from someone who really knows their stuff. I don't want to leave it hanging and something harmful happen! Is it just the case maybe of getting a small cone filter for this? I've seen other photos of peoples induction kit (like the one below) and it simply has a cone on this. Any help is appreciated on this, I would rather spend money and be safe :)
  19. K&N

From the album My Focus MP3

Fitted a K&N Apollo Cold Air Induction Kit
  20. Morning all, First post here so I'll keep it short. Basically, I recently bought and fitted a J! automotive induction kit (Link: http://www.j1automotive.co.uk/ourshop/prod_1828433-Fiesta-Mk7-Air-Intake-Kit-16-Litre-202014105.html) I was advised that this would increase BHP slightly and make the engine sound a bit sportier (Both of which it has done) however, it has decreased the range of my fuel tank by about 50 miles! I have been driving as careful as possible and was advised my friend (who is a car fanatic) that no air filter should reduce the MPG of the car (Other than the first time you use it when you tend to rev it more so you can hear the effects) Has anyone else had similar issues? and is there anything I can do short of putting the old one back in?! Cheers
  21. Hi all, I'm in now way a boy racer for starters. I have recently become interested in improving the shed of a focus (mk1 Zetec SE, Lefthand drive) I've been driving for the last two years. In this time it has never been serviced, passed 2 MOT's and noticed it was getting horrible to drive. I decided to look at how to make it a little better and over the last few days I've changed the oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plugs. This was all after changing the bonnet as the paint had been ruined by bird crap while the car was sat in Rome for three months under a tree. Now the car is running a lot smoother and seems to be doing better on fuel, I am looking at other ways to improve performance without it sounding like a typical boy racer car. I've looked at air induction kits as they seem to say they improve performance throughout the RPM range and as long as you don't drive like a boy racer it's good for fuel consumption. Is there such thing as a quiet induction kit? They all seem to say they give a louder throaty sound and I'm kind of trying to avoid that. Also if anyone has any advice on how to improve performance in general it would be much appreciated. Cheers, Mike.
