Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hi, I have a Ford Transit 2.2 litre diesel of 2008. I changed the battery last week and since then the interior lights cannot be swithed on anymore while ignition switch is in position 0 or 1. With the ignition switch in position 2 everything functions normal, and also with the motor running nothing is unusual. The radio also only functions with the ignition switch in position 2. When the ignition switch is put to position 1 or 0 the radio is directly switched off and all pre-settings are lost. What could be the cause of this?

The entertainment system on my 2009 Mondeo will not power up at all. The screen is completely blank. I have made sure the battery is fully charged and is only 10 months old. The main fuse is fine but I haven't checked the one behind the unit.. This happened a few weeks ago and the main dealer said he powered the system down and then reconnected it. This cured the fault then. I did this and it was unsuccessful because the system is still totally dead. I am aware that the entertainment system will switch off if the battery is even slightly discharged. The entertainment system type as shown in the service book is LSRNS but I have no idea of the manufacturer. The serial number is C7E3A052799245387. The remainder of the dash panel electrics are working fine.
  3. HELP!!! A couple of days ago my 13 plate focus started loosing power, and the stop/start button turned off and unable to manually turn on then the dreaded engine management light came on... plugged it into diagnostic machine and it read cylinder 2 misfire. Today I've changed the coil pack on cylinder 2 and the spark plugs.... still no joy. I have no idea what to do next and to be honest it's Christmas next week, I really don't want to be paying dealership prices if I can avoid it, can anyone else give me any ideas what else it could be? Thanks
  4. Spent £6000 on a ford fiesta zetec s (petrol) that had done 57,000 miles in April of 2015. About a month after I bought the car I discovered a problem. I was driving along in 3rd gear and tried to accelerate, however, when I pressed down on the accelerator there was no response for 1 or 2 seconds, and then suddenly it responded and the car began to accelerate. The problem has continued every since and has become more frequent. No warning lights have ever come on and no diagnostic tool has ever picked up a fault code when I take it to my local ford dealer (who the car is still under warranty with). Every time I take my car to the dealer they are never able to get it to "fault" & no fault codes were ever found hence they said that they can't do any more unless it actually breaks down or shows a warning light. I've had different technicians carry out many different checks on the car, the engine and other potential faulty parts have been cleaned but the problem is still occurring. After the ford dealer were put under pressure by myself to get the problem solved, they replaced the accelerator pedal but this has not fixed the problem. Has anyone had a similar problem with their fiesta? Or know of anyone that has? Any advice/ideas is greatly appreciated as I'm running out of patience with the car and the ford dealer. but they were never able to get it to "fault" & no fault codes were ever found hence they said that they couldn't do any more unless it actually broke down or showed a warning light.

  6. Hi Guys, First post! Bought a 2003 Fusion + 1.4 TDCi yesterday and the factory fitted Ford "7500" DVD player and screen are showing no signs of life at all. I had a look at the fuses but the manual isn't clear about which fuse could be the culprit. Anyone have an idea on why there would be no power to it at all or somethings I should be testing to try and find the fault. Also if someone knows the fuse number that'd be ace. New to all this fancy electronics lark built into the ceiling haha. Cheers, Dan

  8. __hello FOC. As you can gather im new on the forum and desperately need some advice or help. My daughter owns a 2007 Ford KA, she has had it from new and up to a year ago, drove it every day. She has been away travelling for the last 6 months, on her return she tried to start the car but there was no power, no ignition, no hazard light etc. I assumed it needed charging, took the battery and successfully charged it - the charger reported charged and maintaining. I put it back in the car, attached everything as it was but there is still no power to the car, not even hazard light or central locking, nothing! I have since, taken the battery to a mechanic who tested it fine with an 81% test rating. He then attempted to connect everything and still no power. He has also checked the fuses in the main engine compartment which all appear ok. We are all baffled, he has suggested I take it to FORD directly to see if they can get to the bottom of it but thought id try the owners club first just in case someone has had a similar issue and resolved it. Would greatly appreciate any help / advice out there.
