    Ecoboost Issues

Hi haven't used any form of forum before but desparate to know how others finding ecoboost feature on Focus. I bought 2012 Focus Zetec last April (2013), and the Eco Stop/Start feature has worked say half a dozen times since purchase. Brought it back to dealer after about 6 weeks to have this looked into but told it was working OK in garage and must be way i drive (sadly, as a woman you have to expect that kind of fob-off when dealing with garages!!!). Still never worked for me and I raised it again when I had car serviced in Dec- and with same response. I drive 4-500 miles per week (so think I know how to drive!), mostly long work commute but have short journeys at weekends. Obviously we've had full range of temperaures and road conditions since April'13 but still eco-stop/Start feature has barely operated. What are others experiences?. Surely this feature should kick in regularly?. Annoyed at this stage both with the car, and dealer treatment

    Head unit problems

Hi, I’m having problems with my head unit I believe. I always connect my phone to the aux lead and my music plays through the speakers but nothing shows up on the head unit so no song titles or information and the skip buttons on the wheel and the console don’t do anything when they’ve been pressed. In my previous fiesta the music was also able to be played through the Bluetooth and I have Bluetooth on my current fiesta but the aux won’t switch to the Bluetooth like it did in my old one. Any suggestions on what to do as I don’t want to have to buy another head unit. Many thanks!

    Jumping out of gear

Hi. Just bought an 08 plate fiesta Zetec Blue. Only done 38k miles. The problem I'm having with it is sometimes when I go to pull away it falls out of gear. Was only first gear at first so was using 2nd to pull away, now it's started to jump out of 2nd as I go to pull away. It's not happening alĺ the time. I got it from a dealer and have taken it back. They said they fixed it but couldn't tell me what was wrong as the mechanic has gone on holiday. I've had it back a day and its doing the same thing again. I'm ***** myself every time I have to pull away, worrying that it's gonna jump out again and I'm gonna roll backwards into a car behind me. Anyone else had the same or similar problems? Its only when i pull away, no problems when driving along.
  4. Hi guys So I bought this used Sony stereo with DAB to replace the standard boring Ford stereo. But of course I have run into a couple problems. Which I hoped you guys might help me with. The car is an Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost from April 2014. The car is born without DAB and SYNC functionality. On the pictures I have attached you can see that the standard Ford unit has some sort of advanced USB input. The new Sony unit has a larger "multi-input" of some sort. I tried to connect the unit without the weird USB thing and of course the USB in the car didn't work anymore and the Ford Ecomode is also "grayed" out when browsing through the Sony units menu. How do I get back the USB functionality and Ford Ecomode in the menu? Do I need some kind of adapter to solve this? Second problem can be seen on the third picture. The new and bigger screen is pretty exposed and needs some kind of frame I guess. How do I solve this? Thanks in advance guys.
  5. Hey guys. I'm after a little advice about my 2008 KA. I've had it just over a year and it's been fine until recently. It's began a habit of every now and again to stutter and struggle accelerating. The car can be hot or cold. I've noticed it appears to be when I'm in 1st or 2nd gear but it jerk once when in 4th. My foot can be on the floor and they'll just be nothing there for several seconds. Any advice would be much welcomed here. Thanks!
  6. Hi all newbie here and looking for some advice. Just driven my car to Asda all fine. I got my bags out the boot went shopping and put that in the boot. I go to leave Asda and run rear wiper comes on... I check to make sure the wiper switch is in the off position, which it is, so I flicked it on and off again and the wiper stopped where ever I switched it back to off. In this case it stopped in the middle of the rear windscreen. If I switch it on it just keeps going and won't stop. I've tried to have a look to see if maybe it's the fuses but the owner manual doesn't list fuses for the wipers (as far as I can see). My local garage is an evans halshaw place and they've tried to rip me off many a time so don't want to go there. What's the likely cause or can anyone suggest a decent place for me to take it too? much appreciated for all responses!

    Starting Problems

Hey all, I've been having some issues recently where my Focus 1.6 Sport Zetec is having issues with starting and generally after driving it a short distance, stopping, and then starting again. It seems to turn over fine and eventually gets to the point where it does start albeit at very low revs and sounding like it's going to conk out. A press of the accelerator gets it going and from then it's fine. I can even get the car close to stalling deliberately and it doesn't just conk out. Spark plugs, coil pack and leads were all replaced 6 months ago and had an oil change 3 months ago. Does anyone have any ideas where to start? Cheers
  9. Hi all, I'm new still new to the forum but I've already learnt so much from all the people here sharing a crazy amount of information, so thank you for that! I'm in need of some help, I've been having some issues with my Ford Focus CL(2000). It starts fine, begins to drive well but after a few miles the engine cuts out. I performed a diagnostic check and got an error code of P1299 (Cylinder head overtemperature protection active) but as far as I can tell there doesn't appear to be any over heating. I've purchased a new Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor but I can't find the location to change the part on the car. I've been looking behind the alternator but haven't see anything there. The Engine is a Zetec SE. Any information you can provide would be much appreciated. All the best, Dorian Sora
  10. Yesterday I collected my brand new Ford Focus Titanium. The sales garage is a fair way away so thought I would ask some easy questions here rather than pester them. The seating seems very low down, I have tried adjusting that thing on the side but it only thrusts you forwards or back. Is there any way of getting the seat any higher? On my old Ford I could bring the steering wheel closer to me, is it possible on the new Ford Focus.I can't find anywhere in the car or the manual. Thanks for any replies. Ron
  11. Hello , i am a new member to the forum but have been a silent stalker of the forum topics for a while.. I have recently bought (end of April 16 ) A used 2011 Focus, Titan-1.6- TD, it had 64k on the clock when i bought it from the dealer... Love the car but not the problems i have encountered in such a short period of time after purchase :( .. First off was the end of July i suddenly hear a loud knocking sound coming from the engine whilst sat at traffic lights almost a fast thudding/rattle when the clutch was depressed it was still there but less obvious , any way after searching the forums here , i came to the conclusion that it sounded like the DMF was the noise i was hearing (thank you to those that had answered others on a similar topic here ) So lucky for me , i was JUST within my 3 month warranty, so had the DMF and clutch replaced by Evans Halshaw, not without having to cry like a baby in the showroom first , not my usual behaviour but after being fobbed off after them having my car in their service centre for the whole day and then to be told in true (talking to a ditsy blond style) That diesel engines are supposed to sound like a bag of spanners being placed on spin cycle !!! :O That there was nothing wrong with the car, the noise was normal Hmmmm OK .. Treat me like a silly girl i will act like one, on this occasion it worked in my favour heheee and i then got a second more experienced opinion , resulting in the replacementof the clutch & DMF... So now a few months on and i seem to be having issues with my battery dying overnight and even when stopping for shopping after a long motorway drive from Oxford to Cardiff.. The push button start just makes a clicking sound and nothing, lights and computer all work when this happens? I have been told that diesel cars need to be driven on longer journeys often to maintain battery charge? Seems if it is driven and loses charge anyway overnight , surly there is a reason ? I had a 2013 model before and i could pretty much rely on it after being left parked up for a few days at a time (My ex took that with him) i ended up with the dud! anyway i am desperate to try and get this sorted as an unreliable car is all i have at the moment and i am struggling to know what to do about it, paid 8k for it so i don't really have the money to spend on this ATM , Is it likely this might be linked to something that was potentially damaged when the flywheel was going bad, can that affect other mechanics, battery drain an hour after driving it is surly extreme? has to be something draining it so fast , my auto stop start has never worked either and the bluetooth voice command doesn't work either ... Or have i just been unlucky? Thanks and apologies for the rant ;)
  12. Hi, If anyone could give me any advice on this problem it would be appreciated alot, I have been searching through the Internet and not 100% sure of the answer so I was hoping someone out there could. Ford fiesta ghia 2002 100000 miles Basically the car was running fine up until this point and the car began to run at a lower idling rate then normal under 1000 revs, causing a small juddering at points when first starting the car. This has got worse over the next week to a point where it is now juddering pretty much constantly and being under powered now when driving and can kick back in 5 miles back down the road which is not great along with the engine light showing yellow and flashing/being on constant. Sometimes now when turning it on for the first time it will stall instantly due to idling at 900ish revs now as has worsen. I have taken it into the garage, they have change, Spark plugs and the leads Coil pack Afew hours of playing with the for me cleaning our bits. Lucky they have only charged me around 60 pounds so far. They changes done by the garage worked for a day or less then back to the same problems. They are not sure now at the garage what to do next due to the car only being worth between 500-100 pounds. Any advice on what the problem could be and how to fix ? Thank you very much for any advice any one can give little or big. Will check this forum if anymore information needed if I've left any out. Some has mentioned something to do with an ecu but I do not have much knowledge around cars so unsure. Thank you.
  13. Hi i'm having difficulty with my 03 plate fiesta durashift. It wont change into 3rd gear. 1st and 2nd and reverse work no problem. I had starting issues with it and so sent mt TCM off to be refurbished. Now it starts every time all the time but wont select third in semi drive. Also when in fully automatic it wont go passed first. The actuators are free moving and all the wiring is in really good condition,no splits or green around connections or anything.. Any help be much appreciated
  14. Hi, i have a 2009 fiesta, on the sync website it says my car and phone should support bluetooth audio playback. I've paired my phone and the phone calls work perfect but no music will play through the stereo. On my phone the track is playing and says its playing through 'Ford Audio' but no sound. Sometimes when I plug it in through the aux lead it will start playing then stop, almost like the bluetooth is overriding the aux connection. I've tried repairing my phone and 4 other phones to see if it was a problem with mine but it still doesn't work. I've checked the fuses aren't blown and disconnected the battery. Don't know if I'm barking up the wrong tree but it seems like it wants to work but won't. If anyone has any know-how it'd be much appreciated, thanks :)
  15. I currently own a 58 Plate/2009 model Ford Fiesta Zetec S Ti-VCT 120PS. Over the last couple of weeks I have had a problem with my idle revs fluctuating up and down when I switch my car on, or when I am sat in neutral. It feels like something is chugging/struggling but cannot pinpoint what the issue is. Took it to my usual trusted garage last Thursday and the car was doing the same when I arrived - however this time the car completely cut out while sat with the engine on for 5 minutes or so. When they took the car into the garage about 15 minutes later, it wasn't fluctuating at the time (surprise surprise). They checked the ECU for error messages but nothing came up, and also did a full service changing the oil/filters and also the spark plugs. The service report came back clear as well. The issue went away for 4 days but came back again last night. Just wanted to know if anyone had a clue what the issue might be or has experienced the same? I'm stuck with what to do now in terms of getting this fixed. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Got my new 2016 focus on Thursday. On Sunday the console began switching itself off with a banner appearing across the display saying battery saver- switching off. Is there anyway I can fix this or is a dealership job. I'm a complete novice when it comes to cars and they didn't have any manuals left as they said there was a back log. Many thanks.

    Problem with my car

When I am driving in my 1.6 Zetec s mk7 60 plate. I can do in any gear and doing any speed but when I'm going along with my foot down on the gas peddle my car starts to pull back on the power even when my pedal is down and my speed and revs start to go down. It's like it's not getting any fuel or maybe sparking. I've got no clue what's going on. When I take my foot off and change gear a few times its fine for a bit but will do it a few times but then will be fine. No faults come on the dash and its intermittent never know when it's going to happen. Could use with some help!
  18. Hi everyone, I'm not sure if anyone can help me but I would be most grateful for any advice. I went out to my car this morning, it was iced up. I poured Luke warm water over the front and rear windscreen and then set my wipers going, I also sprayed some screenwash. Well the first couple of sprays and swipes from both wipers worked fine and then suddenly everything stopped. My first thought was that the fuse had gone. However. A very kind man (a customer at work) overheard me on the phone to a garage to check whether they stocked fuses and said he had been a mechanic for 20 years and would have a look for me. When he returned he said the fuses were fine. He didn't think it was the motor though, as the front, rear and screenwash had all stopped working. He mentioned a possible loose connection? Then when I spoke to a friend, he said that he still thought it could be the fuse - he had had fuses before which looked ok but had, in fact, blown. I hate to admit it but I'm completely broke at the moment so I was hoping it would be an easy fix. I also can't get my car to a garage until Monday and I'm working tomorrow so I could really do with it for then. With the snow though, I just can't risk driving without working wipers. Does anyone have experience of this problem? Or know of a possible cause and/or fix? It's a 2004 ford KA sport. (1.6 litre) I would be so grateful! Many thanks in advance

    Ford Focus Mk1

Hi All, New to the group, I have a Ford Focus mk1 1.6 automatic, no issues up until now! Where to start ... When pressing the brake to slow down there's a noise coming from the front of the car (suspected brake pads/discs) With it being an auto if I keep my foot on the brake pedal my car starts making a hicup/chugging sound which can be felt on the steering wheel - to stop it I put it in park and handbrake Any ideas as it's driving me crazy!! (Nothing appeared on the diagnostic machine)

    Can Anyone Help Me Please

Hey Guys I drive a Ford Fiesta 1.2 Zetec LX When ever I am driving my car suddenly loses its revs, they completely drop to zero and I'm unable to use the accelerator. this is until I put my foot on the clutch, as soon as my foot touches that clutch the revs are instantly restored and jump back up to where they should be. there seams to be no rhyme or reason to this as it happens in any gear and in all weather conditions. any ideas you guys might have for me would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
  21. Hi, I would be really grateful for any advice on this issue. When driving my 1999 1.8L Ford Focus (V Reg.) the speedo sometimes drops and the rev counter also does. There is a noticeable lack of power and in a couple of seconds this is rectified and the dials are active again. I've read on a number of forums possible causes of this issue, but was just wondering if any of you knowe what the problem is and whether it's advisable to go on a long drive with it? Could the engine stop completely or is it just a non-critical electrical fault? Thanks, Ellis
  22. HI new to this forum and wonder if anyone can help? :( Mondeo TDCi 56 plate 112k miles I know there is a lot out there about injectors but I am at my wits end!! Had all 4 injectors re conditioned by diesel injector 'expert' he said they all needed reconditioning (the car was knocking badly). I re-fitted the injectors and successfully primed the system and she started straight away (I have a good system to prime the filter and rail ...will pass on). However it runs ..but very 'lumpy' and lacks power, in fact I cant drive it. They are the original injectors which I marked and installed in their original positions. I have re coded them with an F Super paying attention to the firing order cylinder number arrangement, matching the numbers on the injectors and confirmed on the rocker cover. I have installed a refurbed turbo actuator a new EGR valve. I have 'cracked' the union nut on the top of the injectors to 'bleed' them several times. The re-furb company is well known and respected and insist they do not need new codes. I have also had a new clutch and DM fly wheel fitted so I need to get it going.. What can I do? Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks Neilmac

    Endless Reliability Issues

My 1.25 petrol car has 120,000 miles and is 9 years old so getting on a bit but in the 2 and 1/2 years I have owned it I have replaced.... From what I understand a lot of these are common issues -Driver side door moulding. -Driver side headlamp fitting. -Thermostat housing. -Ignition Coils and leads. -Front suspension coild spring( did other side as precaution too). -Front tyre due to fault ( admittedly not a ford issue) Does this seem particlarly high for my car, I do mainly motorway miles and don't exactly thrash the thing. I bough it with full FSH and do regular oil changes etc.. Maybe its time I bought something japanese, though it has been a great car for me otherwise.

    Ford Focus Paint Issue

Paint is coming off my new Ford Focus (2014 plate) in 4 areas of the chassis around the boot due to a manufacturing issue when it was originally painted. I contacted Ford in February 2015 and they said I must go back to the dealership. The dealership have tried respraying one area, but this has not resolved the issue, and further areas of paint have begun flaking in the same manner. They left overspray all over the roof. The dealership's response is to continually respray all affected areas, which seems impractical as a new area is flaking pretty much every week. Ford have now said "Unfortunately, we can have no more involvement with this, and we would advise that you continue to liaise with the dealership directly.". Has anyone else seen this problem? How was it resolved? Are there any TSBs for this issue? Does anyone know how to escalate complaints with Ford, or how to speak to someone above customer services? Thank you
