  1. Thought I should start a new topic rather than continue in the "Delivery Delays" thread, now mine is no longer delayed! So, grounded due to snow after getting it home yesterday but roads had cleared a bit by 3.00pm today so ventured out to top up the tank (with a quick 35 mile diversion 😀). First thoughts: Looks much nicer in the metal than in photos and videos I've seen, the ST-Line bits give it a lift, and the race red which I was a little unsure of suits it very well. Took quite a lot of fiddling to get a good driving position (lots of adjustability), but once sorted, very comfy. Wanted a spare wheel so that ruled out the B & O option but the standard system sounds pretty good to me, though you really notice an increase in road noise around 60 and need to crank it up a bit. I'm a bit of a technophobe, but paired the car with my android phone very easily. Bit of technology which has impressed so far is the traffic sign recognition - seemed to work very well even on roadworks temporary speed limit signs. Driving - although we've previously had 2 Mk 7's, had forgotten how quick the steering was, perhaps a little toned down in this generation from previously, but still very sharp by today's standards. Very little roll when cornering, overall very much the "go-kart" feel that MINI bang on about, the price being slightly jiggly ride on our rubbish roads, but not uncomfortably so. Engine - I've not owned a 1.0 Ecoboost before but driven a few in 100 & 125 ps form. Looking forward to seeing if I can detect any difference in the 140ps version when I get it loosened off. Whatever, still a very enjoyable thing to drive, surprising amount of pull even in 6th and has a nice subdued growl. According to the computer my brief (quite brisk) drive yielded 46mpg so not a bad start Will add more impressions when I've done a few more miles in better conditions.
  2. Hello ladies and gentlemen! Just a quick hello to greet you all, and to ease myself into the community. I'm completely new to Ford ownership, having just taken delivery of a 2018 Fiesta ST-Line (140PS, 3-door) in Shadow Black. I must say, I really do love it. The leap in quality and comfort is lightyears from my previous car (indeed, my only previous car - I learned to drive very late!), which was a 2002 Toyota Yaris T-Sport. So whilst I'm used to nippy little go-cart style handling, the level of poise and power the ST-Line possesses (plus the lack of noise thanks to an excellent cabin and a sixth gear!), has made my driving experience really enjoyable, rather than just functional. I approve! Although the world of Ford is new to me personally, Ford has been a part of my family for 3 generations, starting with my late grandfather who worked at the Dagenham plant for 30 years. Since then, Ford cars have always been the choice of my grandfather, father, and brother. I didn't think I'd get to own a car from new for at least another couple of trade-ups, but thanks to the Ford Privilege discount and the dealership being able to knock the usual amount off the list price, I went ahead with a good finance deal, and here I am! Although I'm blown away by the overall quality, I must say that I haven't had the smoothest of starts, mostly thanks to a couple of very minor issues with the main dealer: Firstly, I was assured by the dealer that the car would be sent down by trailer to avoid having anyone else drive the thing, but when I queried the 150 miles already on the clock, it transpired that it had already been driven from another dealership to the one it was just trailored from. Although I was told that up to 500 miles is considered acceptable delivery mileage (my brother's 2018 Focus had just 4 miles on it when delivered last month!), it would have been nice to know in advance, especially as my new logbook reported 0 miles at registration, and I was the first registrant. Secondly, thanks to it being a rainy grey day when I collected the car, it was hard to inspect the bodywork when taking delivery. Once things brightened up a few days later, I noticed a host of small surface scratches here and there - a couple on the wing mirrors, some on the side panels, as well as on the internal sills. I had to return the machine in order to get them rectified, but I was assured it was all taken care of when I collected it - once again in the blasted rain! Although I think they did get the majority of the nicks in the paint, it should be noted that they left the finish in a shocking state - unbuffed, smeared wax all over, huge crusts of wax residue dried in the seams around the fuel filler cap, plus a nice hard-to-remove wax stain on the rear black plastic lip near the exhaust. Given the standard of presentation work up to that point, I didn't fancy taking the thing back again, so dealt with it as best I could myself. I'm treating her to a professional detailing valet and re-wax in a few weeks' time, so hopefully no other bodywork issues will be revealed! Finally, at the start of my third week with the car, she refused to start - even after trying the usual emergency procedures. Fortunately AA cover was included with the purchase, so about an hour after I called them, they were able to get to me at home and fix the problem. Apparently it was the second brand new Fiesta the guy had seen this week with the same problem - a corroded coating on the electrical switches/plugs in the engine fuse box that just needed cleaning off. I was two hours late to work, and not very impressed given I'd had 4 years of my 16 year old Yaris starting first time, every time! Everything has been fine since then, though, and I am still very happy to have joined the Ford party. I'm also very pleased to have found a good community to be a part of here! So, that's my ownership story so far. Have any of you experienced similar? Let me know! ~ James

    MK8 Fiesta Security

I have a ST Line 140 on order and due to recent experiences (my Dad's vehicle getting nicked in the middle of the night) I want to make sure my vehicle is totally secure. Also the fact that Fiesta's, are targetted by thieves and I work in one of (if not the) worst areas in London for car theft. What have people done on this forum to make their vehicle more secure? Other than a Disklok?

    Fiesta Mk8 ST-Line dashcam?

I picked up my new Fiesta ST-Line last week (loving it so far!) after swapping from a Focus Zetec. I had a dashcam fitted in the Focus no problem which I've moved over to the Fiesta and there are 2 types of fuses in the passenger compartment, micro 2 and micro 3. Looking at the manual there seemed to be a lot more available fuses in micro 2 so ordered myself a piggyback. My problem is that every available fuse (except one... I'll come to in a minute) is permanent live which I don't want, the only fuse that isn't is live with the engine and not ignition, which has me up and running but its not ideal because the camera I have is designed to be hardwired so the 'battery' only last 20 seconds or so, meaning that if I'm in a bit of traffic and my stop/start kicks in the camera will be power will be going on/off all the time, I know I could just turn my stop/start off but its more of an annoyance than anything and I'm a bit of a perfectionist! I'll be honest and say having the button start instead of a key..... I'm not sure how that changes the ignition (as you obviously cant just turn the key to step one) There are some micro 3 fuses in the same compartment so I've just ordered another piggyback for the sake of £3 to try those fuses instead but reading the fuse descriptions I don't think I'm gonna have much luck. I was just wondering if anyone else has come across the same problem and did they manage to get around it? I don't really want to start considering going into the engine fuse box (where there are a LOT more choices) as I assume it will be a sealed unit to get it watertight and I don't want to risk compromising that at all. Thanks in advance Chris

    Hi all!

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and this is also my first ford, My 2018 Ford fiesta ST-Line 125ps. The car is fantastic to drive and a huge Upgrade from my old Peugeot 107 that i had for my first car. Just ticked over 1k Miles in 4-5weeks xD. More than happy with the car and also the community, am yet to see another one down in Devon! I aspire to have a Focus RS one day, exciting times ahead :D Cheers!
  7. Hi guys, I'm picking up my new Fiesta next week, ST-Line Nav, 140PS Ecoboost 6 speed and wondered if anybody has done a remap on one of these? I had one of the older fiesta red edition's previously but was put off remapping by the 5 speed gearbox and people mentioning it was at the limit of the power. I'm assuming the new 6 speed would happily take the remap? Looking at Bluefin. I'm also taking the old Mountune induction kit off the old Ecoboost, does anybody know if this will fit the newer car? Thanks
  8. Hello guys! I've come across a slight issue with my new Crossover pipe from R-Sport. It seems there is a breather pipe of some sort which connects to the right hand side of the new crossover pipe as seen in the picture and when it came to fitting it, this hose will kink badly, blocking all air from passing through. This obviously in turn will put the car straight into limp mode. I've tried all sort of ways of connecting this hose but it just seems to bend and kink. Has anyone else had this issue and managed to overcome this? I really don't want it to be the case of £100 wasted. Any help will be brilliant, thanks.

    Focus ST-Line MPG

Hi all, Wasn't sure which section to post this in...but thinking about it, my question is really all about the Focus. Just wondering if anyone who has a focus st-line could tell me what configuration they have and what sort of MPG they get and what sort of journeys they do? Reason I ask is I currently have a 2017 Fiesta ST-Line, which is great. However I've always really wanted a focus and still do. I'm looking potentially at a brand new Focus ST-Line but I'm wanting to know what sort of MPG I could be getting with it, compared to my current car. I do a lot of driving up and down the country so MPG can become quite important to me. Driving up north, really economically, I can get around 52mpg in my fiesta at the moment, and about 39-40 round town. Thanks
  10. Hi everyone, my name's Andrew. I Live not far from Swansea. Just had delivery of my 2017 Ford Focus St-Line 1.5T 150bhp Auto. I am looking for any advice, problems, solutions etc. Hope to hear and see some of you guys. Thanks
  11. Curious if anyone has any experience with Eibach lowering springs which can be purchased from Ford, part no: 1569225. I know they only drop the car 30mm but what I want to know is if these can be fitted to the standard dampers and if it will have any impact on suspension performance, ie. Bottoming out and potential damage to the dampers. I'd imagine coming recommended from ford it would have been stated if there was a requirement for different dampers.
  12. Hi all, First off my knowledge of cars isnt the greatest...although I know what I like. Besides that, basically Ive had mt Mk7.5 fiesta st-line since January 2017 (Love it, its awesome) Today I noticed under the bonnet, what appears to be some rust appear. I think it's attached to the turbo (again not really knowing what Im talking about). Ive seen people have rust issues with the tubes connecting, however mine appear fine. It seems to be a different part. Well..takes a look at the pictures and see for yourself. Is it worth me taking it into ford to have a look at? Or is this something that is expected/nothing to worry about? Thanks for any help
  13. I am thinking of remapping my Fiesta ST-Line 125. Looking online I can get it up to around + 31bhp and +47nm with a stage 1 priced at £322 Currently the car seems like a lot of fun and I don't know if it's worth £322 for the extra power, has anyone on here remapped there car, if so did you find it was worth it? Here is a link - http://www.mybluefin.co.uk/curves/EcoBoost125PS.060214.pdf that you can see the gain of power on. Thanks in advance!
  14. So...driving the other day, going straight on at a roundabout and a lady fails to stop, pulls straight onto the roundabout and hits straight into the side of my 5 months old fiesta st-line. Fair to say I was pretty heartbroken. In the garage now and Ford have told me it's probably going to be a whole new door and trim (to be fair I wouldnt settle for any less). Thankfully everyone was alright....but my car :'(
  15. Hi, I've recently bent my passenger side track rod on my fiesta st-line 2016 model. I've removed the track rod from the wheel hub and the rubber gater. I've also removed a green clip from the inner track rod but I can't unscrew it from the steering rack. I do have a replacement that has flats on it for a spanner but the currently fitted one doesn't. As a result I've been using mole grips to try and loosen it but I've had no luck so far. Do I need a special tool to loosen it, or is there an alternative way to remove it? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
  16. Hey, First time in the forum and was wondering if anyone could help me out. Bought a turbo smart boost gauge, only problem I'm having is knowing where on the turbo I need to T in. Any replies would be great, thanks!

    HELP!

What Mk is the new 2017 Ford Fiesta st-line? Would like to make some interior/ exterior mods but don't quiet know where to look
  18. Morning, I've recently purchased a new fiesta st-line ecoboost 1.0L 2017 and I'm fairly new to all this car stuff and I'm looking for some help. I've bought the car in red and want to make it look a little different and stand out without going over the top. But when searching for extra parts and customisation I'm unaware off what 'MK' the car is classed as? Needing ideas
  19. Hi, Ben from Northampton, new to the site, had my new FocusST-Line for 2 months now and loving it! My Car: Ford Focus St-Line Engine: 1.5 Ecoboost (147hp/240nm) Options Fitted: Colour: Candy Red ST Wheels Door Edge Protectors Sync-2 Navigation Cruise Control/Limiter Convenience Pack (Pics of it in the showroom two days before I collected her)
  20. Just took delivery of my new Fiesta ST-Line 140, Nav & Auto Stop/Start - 3dr, thought I'd share my first impressions. It's on a lease deal from Allen Ford for 3 years at £155/Mth with 1 month up front payment of £155 Delivered with 98 Miles on the clock. Had a minor dull patch (about 1cm square) on paintwork near the headlight which delivery guy thought was glue from a sticker but it doesn't seem to come off. Got him to record that on the delivery note. Have since discovered a fine scratch on the drivers side rear passenger window (are they some sort of plastic rather than glass?) but other than that all looks excellent. Just taken it out for the first trip about 3 miles of twisty uphill country lanes, followed by about 37 miles of A roads of which 5 were in town and about 5 on a dual carriageway (about 75mph). Been taking it fairly gently, (not sure if you need to run modern engines in like we did many moons ago?) took it up to about 4500 for a couple of short bursts getting past a tractor and lorry but generally around 2000- 3000 rpm. I resest the trip computer and turned on the eco mode but didn't really follow the suggested gear change light. I've been driving an Automatic car for the past 7 years so I kept forgetting to change gear, drove about 3 miles in 4th gear at about 50mph before I realised I should've been in 5th. Recorded a 47.6mpg Avg on a 40.6 mile trip at 15 degrees C, averaging 35mph. There were a couple of traffic holdups in the town and 2 sets of lights for road works in that jounery. Had the aircon on for last 15 mins of journey. Seems pretty decent to me for a brand new engine, and I'm sure it would have been over 50mpg if I'd remembered to change gears more often. Handling didn't really test it out much but seems excellent on the twisty bits, ride is firmer than I'm used to of late but by no means a bone shaker. Performance, again I can't really comment too much as I'm taking it easy for a bit but the couple of times I did put my foot down to overtake it certainly feels more powerful than the 2 Litre Citroen I had before. Purrs along quite happily at 35mph in 5th gear too, last car I had that did that was a MK1 Golf Gti 1800 which would pull in 5th from about 25 mph. Engine seems smooth and quiet (like the little 3 cylinder growl you get mid range) with most of the the noise being generated from road/tyres. I Suppose that's just the downside of lower profile tyres but it's still comfortably quiet at 75mph on the dual carriageway driving I did. I'll try and add some more meaningful comments once I had a chance to run it in and have a play. Note sure why the dash photos have come out that way, I took them the same way as the car shot but anyway just twist your head 90 degrees anti-clokwise if you are interested, can't be bothered to rotate them now :)

    FiestaST-line Red Edition 140

    From the album: Fiesta ST-line

Here's a few photos of my fiesta ST-line red edition 140
