Color code or best matching for Nickel Luster Vignale wheels.

Luster Nickel is a color name that through the Years has been used for several different wheels and colors. Ford does not have a paint code for Luster Nickel and does not supply touch up paint in this color.

The Vignale wheels are painted in a so-called Tri-Coat paint that consists of a base coat (black), a color coat (Nickel silver) and a clear topcoat. The color coat is semitransparent and therefore the thickness of each layer determines the result. It is extremely difficult to match the exact color and shade.

Apart from that, different wheels in this color and even different production batches of wheels do usually show a significant color difference. The Luster NIckel wheels on my Kuga Vignale for example are much darker as the Luster Nickel wheels of a Fiesta of the same age.


If it is to touch up some damage on the wheel, I suggest to individually select and find a decent color match.

Best to get two wheels fully resprayed so one side matches or get all four done, either way easy £60 a wheel.
