Ford Ka Under Rear Seat Hole?

Featured Replies

So I have been sorting out the Mrs car for her (a 2003 KA) as she bought a bit of a monkey,

When taking up the rear seats to see if I could fit a isofix kit to the car, I came across a hole about 4 inch across, it's right above the exhaust pipe. It's slightly rusted but looks to have been cut out from factory instead of just a rust hole, however the seat foam above the hole is slightly charred from the exhaust heat and soggy with muddy water from the road.

Question is, is there supposed to be some sort of cap over the hole? If there is what would it's technical term be for it so I can replace it?

I can take pictures if required.

I just worry as that's where the baby seat will be going (she's now 6 days old) so don't want to risk her health due to a faulty car.

Thanks in advanced!

from memory its to access the fuel pump thats in the petrol tank. if you take the reg to your local fords and explane what you want they should have one or get one . i think its a metal plate thats scred on with a rubber large rubber gromet in the middle. i think they use the same on the ford fiestas of that age.

Thanks delboy, I think I'll stop by the local scrapped tomorrow as he lets me just search the cars to my hearts content so will find one somewhere!

Also have a Haynes manual on the way so I can check out a few other things on the car.
