Why Is My 2009 Ford Ka Stalling When Idle?

Featured Replies

Hi

My Ford Ka 2009 is stalling when idling. It shudders, the lights dim etc so you have to rev it to keep it from stalling. It starts every time so no battery problems. I had it in the Ford garage in Dec with this problem and they really struggled to find the problem. They have replaced practically every part, changed the oil, spark plugs, breather hose etc, then eventually reset the computer or the brain of the car (forgive me for being such a girl there). It was running great but the problems have started again. Can anyone advise? I'm becoming scared to drive it as sitting at traffic lights is a total nightmare. Please help :(

try disconnecting the battery for half an hour (with the radio code to hand!) and try again, see if this resolves the issue!
