Clunking Noise When Turning Sharper Corners

Featured Replies

I have a 2002 KA and recently it has started to make a clunking noise when turning corners, usually sharper corners being taken at a slow speed. It seems to happen more when pulling up hill. Have had a google and not found anything. Seen a lot of posts with replies saying about the drive shaft but all looks fine and i am lead to think its not this as the noise is not there all the time. Is this a common problem? If anyone has any suggestions or advice I would be very grateful.

Thanks in advance :)

I've had a for ka in the past and had a similar problem. When I checked the power steering fluid it was low so I toped up and all was fine after that. I had like a grinding noise on full lock and clunky noise when cornering as well. It may not be just the power steering fluid but it's worth checking to see if this is the case.

Just checked the power steering fluid all seems fine there. It is more when turning corners and it doesn't always happen. It seems to be coming more from drivers side front wheel. Its odd, the main times it seems to make the noise is when turning left uphill.

Really the only way to try and pin point the noise is to have the steering/suspension looked over for any signs of wear or damage. Your driveshaft may look fine but its not to say that under the cv boot the cv joint isn't worn.

The coils seem to be fine, the shocks would show more symptoms if there was something wrong there will have to have a propper look at the cV joint to see if it is worn. I'm thinking more and more that this might be the case due to only making the noise when turning left

it maybe the track rod joint or a droplink or the lower suspension arm
