charlierwalker
Hi guys. I'm looking for my next change for my MK3 Focus. Currently I am happy with how the front end and sides are looking. But, the rear is still unchanged. I want to make it look a bit more meaty, sporty even but without breaking the bank or making my insurance company scream. Any ideas? kpg
You could get the Zetec S front lip. I just got one last week and has totally changed the front end. Or, keeping costs down, the unpainted plastics along the sides, rear and front of the car could be colour coded? I saw a silver MK3 on the US forum and it had it done and I just say it looked excellent. I'll try and find the pic. EDIT: Not the silver car I mentioned but here a link to a white one: http://www.talkford.com/community/topic/238051-colour-coded-skirts-and-bumpers/ Sent from my iPhone 5s. tazzman600
Below are a few pics of my car. I had the black trim pieces of the front bumper and the black side skirts and the black trim pieces of the rear bumper colour coded. Although I had the central bottom part of the bumper painted gloss black. I also fitted a chrome trim piece to the exhaust.
charlierwalker
Where did you get that done and how? My bodyshop seemed reluctant to take on on.
biff55
nothing jazzes up the rear of the car more than a sports exhaust , be it centre exit , dual exit , or twin pipe back box.......... ;-) stainless steel of course :-D
biff55
unfortunately this possible styling upgrade will be completely ruined by the tow bar i've just noticed in your photo lol
charlierwalker
unfortunately this possible styling upgrade will be completely ruined by the tow bar i've just noticed in your photo lol Unfortunately the Towbar is a necessity as I tow a trailer every couple of weeks be it for tip runs, moving furniture or moving goods between Home & Universities etc. I really want to turn all the Matt Blacks to Gloss Blacks so it matches the rest of the car. But I've got to find a bodyshop who is willing to do it.
tazzman600
I got the paintwork done by a local bodyshop. I got quotes from everywhere I went and no one had any quarmes. Each of the black trim pieces were taken off the car, prepped painted and baked. Having a tow bar would not look out of place as it may partially be disguised by the painted black section of the bumper. As for your local bodyshops Charlie I'd steer well clear coz if they're not interested in a 200 quid job then stuff them and try another area. If I asked him he would do it. He just thought there were better ways to do it, like Plasti-Dipping. I don't know really, still early days of looking into this! tazzman600
That sounds daft to me. If you had a physical look at my car you'd swear blind it was factory finish. Actually it's better than factory.
