Coolant escaping as steam, overheating possibly gasket

Featured Replies

Hi

For the last week I've been having an issue with my 2002 KA (Endura E) where at operating temperature steam is escaping at high pressure (see attached photo for location on engine).

Eventually this leads to overheating and means topping up coolant everytime. I've only been on short trips as wanted to avoid killing engine though need it for work.

I've checked for leaky pipe, no sign of dripping at all, heater is only partially heating air as well (not icy cold but certainly not warm).

After googling symptoms it suggests a head gasket failure. Can anyone familiar with the layout of the engine confirm that's the case on the attached photo?

Thanks in advance

Ryan
