PCM Update

Featured Replies

Hello,

Ford updated the PCM to the latest calibration on my car, this does not work well with the remap. I was wondering before I ask Ford, if the PCM update can be put back to the original? I was told it could not be.

Thanks,

suddste

Any remap will have been written over by the pcm update. And it's not possible for ford dealer to revert to earlier state.who was remap done by?

superchips, I had taken the map off before the update, then put it back on and the problems started, so was looking to go back to the old one

If you know the exact software version that was on the PCM before the update it will be no problem to downgrade to that version.

Every Ford dealer can do this by using some tricks during the (non com) update procedure. However to do this you need to know the exact software version number.

forgot about that, think ive only ever had to do that once and that was a long long time ago. didnt you have to pretend it was a blank pcm by not switching ign on, then it would load the original on? something like that.

I used this method many times without any problems.

However or should not be needed to downgrade the software. The Superchips remap should overwrite the original software completely.

I have the original strategy number: F1F1-14C204-JF

How would I go about telling them it could be done?
