Hi can some help me with the following query.Ive bought a new rear brake drum with bearing fitted and want to know should i put a light smear of grease on the stub axle before fitting.There was none on there when i removed the old drum.The Haynes manual doesnt mention applying any grease and all videos on Utube showing fitment of a new drum dont apply any grease however a relative that is a mechanic says yes you should apply some grease.I am now confused as to what to do apply grease or not?.Does anyone know the answer?.If i have to apply grease will CV grease be ok?.Regards and thanks.

    No need to apply any grease on the stub axle, it should be a tolerance fit so just push the drum on. Any grease would just get pushed out the back.
