Mondeo 2.2 mk4.5 throttle hesitation

Featured Replies

Hi guys, as above really.

My car seems to hesitate driving around town, if I drive abit harder through gears it's fine. Driving casual it feels like your on and off the throttle when I'm not, abit like a misfire.

Now someone suggests EGR, other people say could be the Fuel filter. I'm just wondering if anyone had this same issue and fixed it, I've done hours of research and no one posted the end result.

Please guys it's driving me mad, oh I must add the car for got blocked as one of the exhaust sensors failed. New sensor and forced regen it back to normal, but now I have this issue and 89% sure it wasn't there before as I would of noticed!!

Cheers

My 1.8, when the EGR is mis-behaving, feels exactly as you describe. Little power fluctuations under light throttle.

After a while of this, on my car, usually the engine light comes on with an EGR DTC like P0490.

It is always bad electrical connections inside the EGR actuator on my car.

Did you ever get this issue sorted, as my 2.2 TXS has started to do the same thing?

I would hope that he has, that was 6 years ago now.
