Ford Fiesta 2007 1.4 (Boot won't open via keyfob or dashboard)

Featured Replies

Hope this is in the right topic,

Anyways, I've a car with a boot that only opens by inserting the key into the hole and turning. The car has options to open via the key fob or via the dashboard. Now when I press both of these, the actuator in the boot moves, but with a lack of energy and refuses to open the boot. I  Have taken the actuator off to expose the inside and given it a clean but still the same. So could it possibly be a faulty solenoid? Or is there a crappy ground somewhere that needs a good clean. To me, it seems something isn't getting proper contact therefore not enough current is getting to the actuator which therefore doesn't give it enough strength to open the boot. Anyone share any ideas on this? Even better if anyone knows where the ground for this is?

Thanks :)

Sounds like a common problem as I had this happening on my 2008 style, it just sounded like the release parts had no energy left in them and wanted to go to sleep lol
