2006 Focus Tdci 1.6 revs dropping to 0

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm currently having intermittent issues where when I'm driving the power cuts off and revs drop to 0, but the engine is still running.

When this happens the odometer turns to a series of dashes and I need to turn the car off and on. Sometimes this works after a while, but mostly for a few minutes when I turn the key the odo still shows dashes but it doesn't even try to turn over.

The engine is still running in the picture included and this is the same as it looks when it cuts out or when I attempt to restart

Any advice or opinions welcome

Cluster fault.
The solder joints go brittle and cause intermittent errors.
New clusrer or send it off for a diagnosis and possible fix.
