Creak/squeal in clutch

I have a mk3 ford forcus 2011. When I press the clutch slowly it makes a creaking/squeaking noise for the first half of depression. I went to the ford garage about it and they told me to spray the pedal mechanism with white lithium grease. I have done this to the best of my ability, but the noise has persisted. Any advice?
