2007 KA 1.3i heavy steering

Featured Replies

Its not drastic, just heavier than I believe it should be compared to a Hyundai i20 or a Bora TDI which we also have.

The P/S fluid was dark grey so I drained it and refilled with ATF Q3.

The P/S does work. Its a very stiff with the engines switched off.

Are there common issues with the KA steering or is it heavy by design?

sounds like the power steering motor /pump is not working properly i would replace it as it should

not feel heavy when working

Thanks for posting!

The KA owner  took it home last night and sent me a message to say the steering feels a lot lighter with the new fluid in.

Its still heavy in my opinion so as you say, a worn pump perhaps not getting the pressure as high as its designed to be.

I'll keep an eye on the fluid state to see if it gets dirty again.
