Suspected Pats problem

I wonder if some one can assist. I used a key without a transponder to start the Van. Of course this did not work. I got the usual key. Now this will not work either. The LED is dead, no flashing codes just remains unlit. Key lights up dash, fans, horn, clock, headlamps all function. I can hear fuel pump engage and a click under bonnet but no crank. Oddly radio does not turn on but I never had the code anyway. It’s the none flashing LED that confuses me. It started by using a key with no transponder. All was well an hour earlier. Any ideas?
