The rim of my steering wheel, at about the 11 o’clock position  has significant wear-.about 2 inches of it where the leathery finish has completely worn away. 16 months old and 15000 miles. Not impressed.

No but I remember whilst a traffic cop that one one of our Vauxhall patrol cars had a completely worn down thumb rest on one side of the steering wheel.  This was due to a particular driver getting over excited in pursuits and rotating his hands on the wheel, where the little thumb rest was, until it wore off.  Do you do much pursuing, or do you get pursued a lot ?  😏

Yes I do a fair bit of pursuing. That must be what it is! 

Exactly the same here except 25000 miles.  Not impressed either.

Strange, I'm at 23,500 miles and mine is like new except a scratch at the bottom I did with a ring. Brand new steering wheel being fitted on Tuesday anyway.

JIm, out of interest is your wheel heated?

Same thing happened to my Mondeo Vignale. On the right though, not on the left.

Just to update if anyone cares- wheel replaced under warranty-  which is nice.
