Upgrade standard 2008 Mondeo Mk4 radio/cd unit

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm trying to find out if it is possible, and how straightforward it is, to upgrade the standard 'as-fitted' radio/cd/heater control console in my 2008 Mk.4 Mondeo with the equivalent radio/cd/nav/heater console, also from a 2008 Mondeo.

My local Ford dealer doesn't know!

All advice gratefully received.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

You'd also need the A/C ECU (which is mounted below the satnav. But looking at how old the satnav (and its maps) are I'd rather look for something aftermarket (with integrated Bluetooth, USB ...).

If the bottom picture is parts you already have, just also post the sideview. You'd also need to a GPS antenna, a micro (the satnav has integrated voice control), and reprogram the cluster display (if you have the one with the TFT).

Thanks - I haven't bought the possible replacement yet as I wasn't sure whether it'd be a waste of time and money. How would the maps get updated on this - or is it not possible?

(I'll see if I can find a side view)
