Hi all, 

Have a Focus Titanium with Sony Sync 1.1 unit, with navigation, the Map/Navigation buttons don't work, yet you can access the navigation via the menu system. Tried to update the system, but when USB stick is inserted, I get the message file not found. 

Tried so far;

Several USB sticks of different sizes/brands

Format FAT/FAT32

Edited the Instal file to remove the extra characters inserted, and put correct line breaks in too

Used WinZip, 7Zip and windows own uncompress utility.

Disconnected battery for period of time

Done full reset on head unit

Drunk plenty of tea too.

 

I am coming to the end of what else I can try, spent many hours on this and I can only assume there is a fault within the head unit. Ford told me to remove system from dash, and use the USB connector on the rear of the unit, funny thing to suggest as I cannot fine a USB connector on the rear.

 

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I remove the last of my hair!!

The buttons and their functions are controlled by the  the display (which also contains the satnav), updating Sync won't make a difference. This is based on the Sync 1.1 part, which came with the 5" non-touch display for navigation.

Hi, thanks for the reply, I guess then by replacing that part with an identical part with NAV should fix it?
