I am giving up with my focus TDCI. Looking at a 1.4 petrol fiesta today mk5.

Just wondering what common issues to look out for.

    Mk5 not Mk6?  They're getting on a bit now.

    Rust is a big issue on those.  As well as cooling system issues (cracked coolant bottles, inop rad fans etc).  Coilpacks fail on them, causing misfiring, most noticeable when warm accelerating from low rpm.  Then just general stuff like suspension and oil leaks etc.  Worth checking previous MOT advisories as brake pipes are likely to be due if they haven't been done.

    At that age would want to know it's had a recent cambelt and probably clutch as well.
