Heated Front Screen

Hi, ever since buying my 52 plate 1.8 Mondeo about 3 years ago a small vertical section of the heated front screen has failed to clear, unfortunately this section is right in front of the drivers view. This has now got worse and now covers about a quarter of the windscreen. I`m assuming the fault is broken elements within the screen but is there anything else it could be, maybe a damaged wiring connector and if so where would I locate this.

    its the screen...mine was like that pretty common, new screen the only option, :rolleyes:

    mine works on my mkiii and it did on my mkii but the only thing that frustrates me is that they both cleared the passenger side first!
