adamflynn123
Hi, I've owned a 2004 Focus Cmax for some years now, and overall it's been a pretty reliable car. There's one problem though, the locking doesn't work. When i bought the vehicle it only came with the spare key, with no remote functions. For the first year it would lock fine using the keyhole on the drivers side, though that later stopped. I had the remote central locking actuator replaced but then a week later the key in the door wouldn't turn. Although, i can lock the doors from the inside, which tells me the central locking system is still working. I haven't really bothered about it not locking as i don't keep anything valuable inside. Recently however, i have returned to my car on several occasions to find the contents of the glove box emptied out onto the seats. I've done some searching and found that the replacement key fobs can be purchased off eBay, and I've also discovered that remote keys can be programmed yourself using a method of turning the key four times until a sound chimes. So, before i purchase one of these replacement key fobs, i just wanted to know whether it would program using the simple method as stated. or is there a hidden catch that i'm not aware about? pragmatix
You need the master key to do this.
