Hi

 

I have a 2010 galaxy. Just had it serviced and a few weeks later notice the warning light on, on further diagnostic, it appears the EGR is not opening and closing as it should. Before I get a new EGR fitted is there anything I can try to solve this?

sell the car and buy a petrol one. 

but seriously, how do you know its not working as intended? has a garage looked at it ? 

if it is clogged up , on some diagnostic tools you can perform an egr clean. basically the egr cycles back and forth until the carbon is scrapped offvthe actuating rod. it works for a while but will play up again at some point .
