Ford focus MK 2 Tailgate/boot niggles

Featured Replies

Hi All , I have a small dent about 3in diameter underneath the number plate on the tailgate , i have tried the sucker approach and has helped it out a bit so now i need to come in from behind and try and tap the rest out ,, first question how do i remove the plastic cover from the inside of the tailgate . will it need to be prised out am wondering ?

next little niggle is i have just noticed there is only one boot light , can a similar one be fitted and is the wiring already in place ..Regards James

Regarding the sole boot light, you can wire a 2nd one in on the other side but you'll need to run the wiring from the existing one, around the bottom of the boot (the boot trims come off nice and easy) and back up where the cabling for the rear lights goes.  If you do what most of us have done a replace the crappy halogen bulb with a white SMD/LED bulb you'll also get a brighter, much nicer looking light.

or you can add a 12" led strip like what ive done and tie it up.

Or buy a roll of 5050 smd led tape, and run one each side the full length of the boot 😁 it's like blackpool illuminations!

Regarding removal of the boot door panel; these guides should help: see de-wiper rear and boot door strap for illustrated instructions on removing the boot panels

And adding an additional boot light see this guide:
