Tdci Non Starter

Featured Replies

Hi all...

First off, sorry if this is the wrong section but I am finding it difficult to find a relevent section I can post in for this matter.

Anyway...my problem I need help with lies with my parents 04 1.8 TDCi.

Just gave it a nice little service (including fuel filter) and now it wont start.

I have bled the fuel system and have a nice flow of diesel from the injector pipes but still a non starter.

It cranks over but doesn't start. The battery ran flat yesterday with my presistant efforts so I charged it over night and I'm having teh same issues today.

I have tried towing it to start it too but to no avail.

I know it is a pain to get the thing started again but i have been trying for 3 days now and still nothing.

I have been working on cars for 15 years and never had this problem before!

The car was perfect before the service too.

So anyone...how do you get the thing started in my situation?!?!?!

:( :( :(

was the fuel filter filled with diesel before fitting? although you have fuel at the injectors it sounds like air in the system you could try switching the ignition on for 15-20 seconds and then turn of. do this 3 to 4 times and it should charge the fuel system then try starting the car.
