Poor start and slow finish

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2014 1.6 zetec s automatic.

60500 miles and serviced this week. Owned for 3 years.

No faults recorded on diagnostic test and no faults on the dashboard.

New battery also.

When I press the the start button the car starts straight away but when I accelerate it loses revs as though it wants to stall for about 5 seconds then it's fine.

When I stop and turn it off it goes into idle mode for 10 seconds before coming to a shuddering stop- unless I open the drivers door and then the car stops instantly as if I'm breaking a circuit.

I asked the garage and they shook there head to say take it to ford. I rang them and they said £50 to test it although I told them the diagnostic is clear... ahh wanted to to trade it in next week too. Any ideas please
