Christoffr 0 Posted February 11 Has anyone experienced a problem of a 6000cd radio draining the battery when the radio is turned off? My wife's 2004 Focus is drawing half an amp even when the radio is off. I believe that the normal current drain in the off condition should be a few milliamps. In all other respects the radio is working. I discovered that the audio chip incorporates a power switch. the output of this switch feeds the main board chips. I have measured that the output of the power switch/audio IC is feeding high current to the main board when they should clearly be closing down. I bought another used radio and it does the same. Christoffr 0 Posted February 11 Thanks for your suggestion but I have operated the radio on a bench power supply and the same problem was displayed.
