cutting out

Featured Replies

HI all my 1800 zetec s has recently been serviced by my local ford dealer and within a few days Ive noticed that it feels a bit sluggish and cuts out quite often, normal when slowing down or idling spoke with them about this and was told to remove my induction kit ( didnt think it was that but meh ) done this and no change, Im thinking its a combination of throttle body and egr full of gunk, any help from the hive mind x

Were the spark plugs changed too or was it just an interim (minor) service?

Have you filled the car with fuel since the service?

no it was a full service with plugs and a check over to which no faults were found

I dont think its something theyve done at fords just bad timing on the cars part

My wife also has a 1.8 HE MK2.5 Focus and it also was not running correctly, even after I gave it a full service including NGK Iridium spark plugs.  I ended up cleaning out the throttle body AND the EGR which has improved things significantly.  Although the throttle body was easy to remove, the EGR was a git due to one of the retaining bolts being partially obscured by a fixed plastic pipe/fitting.
