APIM replacement SYNC2

I recently bought a SYNC2 APIM from EBay. The donor vehicle was an Smax. I thought SYNC2 APIM, no problem.

Not so. The brackets are incompatible and the screen casing is slightly larger.

I have managed to get it in and working but had to pack the unit out to fit. 

There are a number of T8 screws holding the bracket on, these will need replaced with longer screws and spacers to fit correctly.

I just got away with fitting the Smax screen in the KUGA but you could not do the reverse as there is no way to secure the brackets.

I originally tried swapping screens but the screens seem to be married to the APIM.

LESSON: Not all SYNC2 APIMs are swappable as it depends on the screen.
