Strange front/rear screen activity

Featured Replies

I don't know if always doing this but sometimes on starting my car the rear and front screen are activated but the lights in car aren't illuminated.

They do work as expected by pressing the buttons and also illuminate in car.

On the newer Ford's I think it's temperature activated, I'm sure I've seen threads on here previously about the exact same thing (the buttons not illuminate in apparently normal in this instance).

it's below 5c on my 2009.

It happens on mine too below 5c ish its supposed to.

That's a relief thanks guys.
I did ask service guy yesterday when booking car in for clutch recall but he just said he'd never heard of this and if they were to look it would be 50 quid if no fault found.

Does seem a bit overkill it to do this as not always needed when below 5 degrees. Wasting fuel and battery power

Ah, good old "Stealers"....."No sir, I've never heard of a car doing that before, that doesn't sound right, I can check it with our computer for ££££" tw@ts :wallbash:

(I understand that dealers are there to make money but assuming the staff are even vaguely familiar with Ford cars then they really should know stuff link this, IMHO)
