hi all,

new to forum, I have had lots of fiesta before but two months ago moved up to a focus 1.6 tivtc  in yellow mustard. I have done what I do with all my new cars, oil, filters, plugs and leads change but I must say I am not really impressed with its 125brake. seems sluggish unless you are booting it. there are two things I have noticed that are bothering me( before warranty runs out)  sometime on a cold start instead of instantly running at about 1400rmp (cold) it runs at about 900rpm and works its way up as if its misfiring but seems to run smooth. the other thing is sometime while accelerating( ignoring the little green arrow) it will hesitate or slightly miss at about 2500-2600 rpm. them drive ok. as I say feel disappointed with its get up and not go. almost like turbo lag(hasn't got one) keep pressing on the right pedal because nothing seems to be happening. would appreciate any thoughts thanks in advance.

The 1.6-VCT engine is underpowered for a car as heavy as a Focus, whilst it clearly shouldn't be misfiring at certain times, it's always going to feel a bit "breathless" or lacking in torque unfortunately.
