Is this possible? Wouldn't have to replace the sync 2 unit for an android auto console?

Sync 3 is the only ford system that supports android auto.

I'm currently looking for an Android head unit that would work with all factory settings but it's proving difficult :(

Wouldn't the current wiring work when plugged in to a new console?

Just a side note and they may have fixed it now but I couldn't find out to hang up a call via AA on my focus. Button on wheel wouldn't work and was no obvious choice on screen.
As I say it may be fine now but if you haven't already seen it all work I'd try to before investing in any changes.

Haven't got a clue I'm afraid. I only know this much because I looked into changing my non sync system to a sync one... If I could afford a sync 3 system is go for that over anything, but sync 3 second hand is about 600!

Yeah it's not a cheap upgrade

Was this on Sync3?

Yeah it was. It put me off using it as wanted waze. Now that Ford maps updated I'm not so bothered anyway.

I’ve not ever had a problem like that before. Which screen where you on?

Not sure now. I'll try it again when I get the chance.

Tried it today on road home from work and it all worked flawlessly. Well other than I tried to phone the wife and it thought I meant someone with similar name and dialled them instead. Arghhhh mad franticness ending it before it started ringing. Unfortunately it did and they phoned me back.

Haha, that's pretty funny. Mine has all of a sudden took a dislike to my 'mum and dad'. Refuses to recognise the voice tag and won't radial if you use the verbal command. Only way to call them is via the screen

I cheered myself up asking Google to tell me a joke.

I'm finding that holding talk button down while talking to Google assistant isn't always muting the audio so means you are competing with radio etc while you ask Google.
It could very well be my phone though if not happening to anyone else?

Holding the button down? I just hit it once and then release.

ive had that issue before where the radio doesn’t shut off, I have to just tap the screen and press the button again.

Hmm OK. I'll investigate that today. I thought I had to hold button down to talk under AA as opposed to standard sync where you just press it once.
