Focus 2017 rear lights

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 2017 focus. I think the left hand tail light is out. Looks like the one bulb is stop and tail, and the stop still works.   Car has compensated for the bulb being out and out up a red light at the bottom of the cluster.  Question is, what is the bottom red light for as on the right hand side which doesnt have a build out I can't get it to light up. It's not for light as thats low down in the bumper.

If this is what I think it is then its a fairly common build issue from the factory...  You'll have two different light clusters on the back, one LED type and one non-LED type usually fitted to basic models.   Put up a picture of both but I'm pretty sure it's that.

Edit: I didnt read for light as fog light at first.

If you have LED running lights on the front you'll have LED tail lights. All cars come fitted with the dual filament bulbs regardless of LED or not. Saves on loom costs!

I have LED on my estate but the brake tail light is only used for braking.

Can you get a picture up of your rear lights on so we can determine what you have?

I assume the led ones are what I'd call the u shape when tail light lit up.

They're also the ones that I refer to as "the nice looking ones" (relative to the MK3 pre facelift style ones).

I actually think the light up area is a bit on the small side personally.
