What's this pipe for?

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Just wondering if any knowledgeable people know what this pipes for...  Car came up with p0299 fault and upon looking noticed this pipe frayed and split.

Thank so in advance for any help.

Those 2 are the DPF pressure pipes.  is it just the outer material sheath that's damaged or has it gone right through the rubber pipe underneath?

That pipe is unlikely to cause your boost pressure fault code.

Hi tomsfocus

It looks as though it's gone all the way through the pipes....

That's my hope that it was the pipes causing the problems.....

Thanks for your help

Ok well if it's gone all the way through the DPF won't be able to regenerate properly so it does need fixing or ideally replacing.

Once that's fixed, take it for a drive and then scan for fault codes again.

Are you having any driveability issues or limp mode etc?

No the car seems to drive fine and no limp mode issues....
