Irish Paddy
Hi all, it's been a while but I'm back. Now with a 2008 Mondeo 1.8 TDCi saloon....nice car, but - Only bought it a few weeks ago and now the weather has started to warm up I notice that in fact the climate control is stuck on hot, and it's impossible to change the direction of airflow - at the moment it's stuck directed towards the face level front dash vents. I strongly suspect the airflow flaps are not moving since I can hear no sounds out of them. The blower motor seems to be working normally as I can hear it and can vary its' speed using the control panel. It has the EATC control interface, part number AS7T18C612AB. I ran the on-board diagnostic procedure which threw back 4 faults: 9081 Circuit of left-hand temperature control flap actuator faulty 9082 Circuit of right-hand temperature control flap actuator faulty 9083 Fault in the circuit of the air recirculation flap actuator 9086 Fault in circuit of actuator for air distribution flap Seems there is a system-wide fault somewhere. The panel itself seems to be working, at least the display part is. It responds as expected when I change selection, e.g. if I select footwell heat it lights up the correct symbols but of course the airflow does not change. Had a quick look this morning and seemingly have to take a lot of trim off just to look at the actuator motors or access their wiring. Anyone know or suspect a likely culprit here as to where I should be looking? Really don't want to start disassembling the whole dash if I don't have to. Cheers! Irish Paddy
I end up answering my own question..... The EATC control interface was faulty. Despite having the appearance that it was functioning correctly, I picked up a second hand replacement and all is well now.

Hopefully not too expensive to replace, fair play for posting back with a resolution as it might help someone else someday.

stevewil63
Hi, Forgive me for the probably dumb question but if you dont know, you dont know, The control interface you changed, is that the control panel that holds the adjustment buttons on the dash or is it a separate interface hidden some where?
