2018 Focus RS Handling

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

ive just registered as I’m sure that you’ll have the answer in here:

We’ve just purchased 2no 2018 Focus RS as team race cars, stripped them down, kitted them out with cages, brakes, LSD’s, susepension etc, but, can’t get over a problem we are having with the handling.

it seems no matter what tweeks are made to the car it still handles like a loose bag of potatoes! I know that as a team we’ve come from powerful real wheel drive cars down to trying out the sports car class but just can’t get over the fact that they can be this terrible!

Does anybody else on the forum race these, and if so, what have you done to overcome the poor handling, very specific details will help detailing spring and damper rates and angles etc.

Could you please elaborate what changes you did in terms of sway bars, coils and corner balancing ? You are the first to claim that a fully modded RS handles like a bag of potatoes :).

The car is a bit front heavy as you cannot do a 50 50 split like on a RWD. Did you shed some front weight ? Diff battery , etc ?
