My model is later so different to your and i never turn the fan off so i cant help much.

I just tried on my later model and the fan will run very slowly but not go off as i said i leave mine on auto all the time i set the temp when i got the car and havnt touched it since 18.5c does me all year round, max demist and max cooling do anything else i want
