rear brakes

Featured Replies

Hi, Can anyone tell me what size socket fits the large nut to remove the rear brake drum on a 2005 streetka

I have a 30mm socket which is too big, I measured across the two flats of the nut and it was 29.5mm

also when refitting what torque should it be.

thanks

0.5mm isn't much on a large nut, as long as its a 6 sided socket it should be fine.  I've only ever seen a 29mm hub nut on Jap cars.  And I can't see it being imperial so it should be 30mm.  Maybe it's a cheap aftermarket nut instead of OE?

Torque setting is 235Nm for the rear.

Thanks for the info regarding the torque, has regards socket size I tried the 30mm and it is a very loose fit so I did not use it as I didn't  want to risk damaging the nut
