C28AA isn't a DTC

ok thanks

The problem is the stereo is no longer talking to the car so the dashboard won't display any radio info because it doesn't know the radio is there.

As for why that's happened I don't know, I see you've tried pulling the radio fuse but have you tried disconnecting the battery itself for a few minutes?

might be worth you looking into a program called Forscan.  It might give you some error codes so you can look up what the problem.  www.forscan.org

It's generally best practice to remove the negative terminal.

Yes this all happened on my Focus when I changed the battery. I was quite surprised the radio held its channels tbh.

Although both methods will achieve the same thing.

I have the same problem . Tried out ion test light to all wires on the back of the radio and seams like no power.

any one know which the power lead (colour wire) it should be going to the back

2009 titanium x, Sony cd

Brown/red. Should supply power via fuse f6 in footwell fusebox.

Had the same problem. Changed ignition switch (£22) working great now. Quite a simple job too.

  • 1 year later...

I have a very sticky on / off switch on the radio… possibly something to do with that.

I manually have to pull it out, to get it to work again. Occasionally forget and find the radio keeps turning itself (& digital systems in the car) back on.

Car is 2017 smax vignale - Sony radio.

I've just had the same problem. EASY FIX HOLD THE OFF/ON BUTTON FOR 20 SECONDS. THE RADIO RESETS.
