DIY tinting

Featured Replies

Hey Guys.

I'm looking into tinting my headlights and taillights. I've watched a number of videos by people doing it. I drive a 2108 mk8 Fiesta ST-Line 3 door. It didn't come with rear privacy glass so that is the first thing i want to do. I'm curious as to what experiences you guys have had with tinting your windows and lights yourself. I've watched videos by people using Fly Eye, some say it is too much hard work and rubbish, others saying its actually ok.

Thoughts?

Cheers guys

Tried tinting my headlights on my focus with chameleon tint after watching loads of videos. Its currently scrunched up into a ball over my back fence

I have a black Mondeo mk4 with Pitch black rear Privacy glass; and was really itching for the full black-murdered-out look hence tinted the rear tail lights and headlights. The tail lights were a bit of handful bugger due to the odd shape.

I would say give it a shot keeping some things in mind:
1. Patience, you will definately need it.
2. Use some lighly soapy water as a lubricant.
3. Always use more material than you will need for the task
4. Use a hairdryer or a heatgun if possible; but don't overdo it.

Hope that helps.
