2015 mk3.5 1.6tivct “Engine service now” light appeared then went away

Featured Replies

Today I have done around 60 to and from work and with a couple of errands without issue. Getting into my car to head home ( it had been left for 2hrs so was coldest from the previous run) it started first time and no signs of an issue apart from the Amber I and the info display saying “engine service now”. By the time I reversed out of the parking space and drove for around the car park towards the exit the I had gone and doesn’t show in the system check anymore. The car seems to be running spot on with no noises or lack of power.

Should I be concerned about this ? Or put it down to a blip. I am not currently concerned as the eml didn’t come on and there was no limp mode or poor running.

The car has 69k miles was serviced in December by ford about 2k ago and mot’d under a month ago where it flew through the emissions.

I have just left the car for 30mins went back out to start it and it started fine without any errors.

To be concerned or not to be concerned .. that is the question.

If it were my car then I personally would be worried and paranoid for about a week, by which time I would have forgotten all about it due to the fact it never happened again lol

my advice is don’t worry, if the car is performing well and the message and ‘i’ symbol has gone then likliehood is the car is fine. Maybe check the oil level and other fluids that you can see, although I doubt there will be anything untoward.

Yeah that’s me too.. a few weeks of panic until I forget about it.

The car was completely fine this morning too so I’m a little happier.
