Turbo problem

Featured Replies

Hi

I've got a Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost 2012 with 94k on the clock. I’ve owned it for a few years since 54k miles and had it serviced every 10k miles with no issues other than replacing the coolant hose and recall for clutch software.

Yesterday I had a tailgater and when i got to the national speed limit sign I decided to put my foot down in 3rd to 60mph and the car has not been the same since.

The turbo hasn’t gone but at high rpm seems to be struggling for air and jolting. It’s recently had a service 4K ago and new brake pads last week. I’m hoping this is just a turbo hose that has split?

Any ideas your help would be appreciated thanks

 ryan

Not likely to be a boost hose but they're easy enough to check.  My guess would be the recirc valve leaking.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve took to mechanic today and got these codes

Hmm, wasn't expecting a timing issue tbh.  Did the mechanic make any suggestions about a fix?
