Low rev jerkines - 2.0tdci euro 6

Featured Replies

Hi to all,

I own a Mk3.5 focus, 2.0 tdci euro 6, MT and having the following issue:

- at low rev range, 1200 - 2000 when the engine is decelerating or if i slightly re-apply the throttle and keep it constant, it jerks and creates a bad driving sensation, such as something is wrong with the engine.

- first/second gear seems sluggish the car jerks between gears, feels like the engine is lacking power. In the rest of the gears, it pulls fine.

At higher speeds, works fine, no problems above 2000 rpm.

I replaced the EGR valve, engine seems to run smoother now but the low rev jerkiness is still there.

Any thoughts ?

i have a 62 plate tdci. get same feeling.  i had wheels rebalanced thinki g it was slightly out of balance. but it wasnt.  i just adjust driving style and drive a bit faster to get over it.  iv heard these engines are badly mapped.  i had it remapped.  i had pcm update at ford.  still same

Thanks. It's awkward that it does not do it all the time. There are weeks when it drives perfectly fine. Then all of a sudden gets worse and remains like that. Ford. Ford.....
