Kuga 18 Easy Fuel pump cutoff / clicking

Featured Replies

I have a Kuga 18 plate, and every single time I try and fill up, the pump clicks every few seconds, and you have to spend 5 minutes filling it up. Took it to Ford, who took a look and said there is no issue. The first time I filled up after taking it in, it was fine, but subsequently we're back to the problem again. I've tried all angles, and different insertion depths (including the one suggested in manual), but it just doesn't allow a constant flow.

anyone else have this, any ideas ? driving me up the wall. I'll take it back in to the dealer soon, and get a technition to come down to garage with me to show them otherwise.

Its very very rarly the easy fuel its all technique, push nozzle in and let it rest

Is this at the same filling station or all of them?  Some are worse for this than others.  Letting the nozzle 'rest' in the filler rather than lifting it at an angle is usually the best way, and also hold the trigger half way instead of full, it does take a bit longer to fill up but saves it clicking off constantly.

thanks guys. Yes, I've tried the 1 notch and let it rest etc, just doesn't seem to work. I can get maybe a quater way on the trigger, in the end the pump just cuts out, never had that before with any car.

My sister has had fords all her life, so maybe I'll let her try, as she's never had a problem, although I'll never hear the end of it, if it works ! If not, then think I'll go back to Ford. Like I say, 1st time they looked at it, they said they couldn't find any problems. On way back from garage it filled fine, but since that 1 time, its been doing it again, maybe they loosend something, no idea. I'll update this thread once I know what it is (either me or the car).

also, tried multiple garages, from BP to Sainsbury and all have same issue. Wife has it too.
